Under the guidance of his father, Ye Peijian was admitted to the Radio Department of Zhejiang University, and later became the first batch of international students after the reform and opening up, and went to Switzerland to study. "People have to have a little spirit, and often in the most difficult times, even when they can hardly stand up, it is only by relying on this spirit that they can overcome difficulties." Grit your teeth and face the difficulties. In Switzerland, Ye Peijian raced against time to teach himself French, earning a doctorate in science in five years, when he was over forty years old. In August 1985, after receiving his doctorate in science in Switzerland, Ye Peijian left for China. He said that someone had asked me if I hesitated when I returned home. I can tell you from the bottom of my heart: no, not at all.
From entering the university, studying abroad to work, Ye Peijian faced many choices in his long career of struggle. But for him, making a choice is not difficult, and four words run through it – the country needs.
In 1996, he became the chief designer and commander-in-chief of the China Resources-2 satellite. At the beginning of 2004, the first phase of the lunar exploration project was approved, and Ye Peijian served as the chief designer and commander of the Chang'e-1 satellite. In 2019, at the age of seventy, he led the team to achieve the successful landing of the Chang'e-4 probe on the far side of the moon. He said that China's space for spaceflight is unlimited, and the future can be expected.
