Beijing, 28 Jan (Xinhua) -- On 28 January, the Information Office of the State Council released a white paper entitled "China's Aerospace in 2021," introducing the main progress of China's space activities since 2016 and the main tasks for the next five years, and further enhancing the international community's understanding of China's space industry.
The white paper is about 12,500 words, and in addition to the preface and conclusion, it includes six parts, namely, to start a new journey of comprehensively building a space power, develop space technology and systems, cultivate and expand the space application industry, carry out space science exploration and research, promote the modernization of space governance, and build a new pattern of international cooperation in space.
The white paper says that China has always regarded the development of the space industry as an important part of its overall national development strategy and has always insisted on exploring and using outer space for peaceful purposes.
The white paper points out that since 2016, China's aerospace has entered the "fast lane" of innovation and development, space infrastructure construction has been steadily advanced, the Beidou global satellite navigation system has been completed and opened, the high-resolution Earth observation system has been basically completed, the satellite communication and broadcasting service capacity has been steadily enhanced, the "three-step" lunar exploration project has been successfully concluded, the construction of China's space station has been fully opened, and the "Tianwen-1" has achieved a leap from the Earth-Moon system to interplanetary exploration, and has achieved brilliant achievements that have attracted worldwide attention.
The white paper said that in the next five years, China Aerospace will base itself on the new development stage, implement the new development concept, build a new development pattern, promote the comprehensive development of space science, space technology and space applications in accordance with the requirements of high-quality development, start a new journey of comprehensively building a space power, and make greater contributions to serving the overall development of the country, promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind in the field of outer space, and promoting the progress of human civilization.
The white paper points out that in today's world, more and more countries attach great importance to and vigorously develop the space industry, and the world's space industry has entered a new stage of great development and great changes, which will have a major and far-reaching impact on the development of human society.
The white paper said that standing at the historical starting point of the new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country, China will accelerate the construction of a space power, uphold the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, continue to work with other countries to actively participate in global governance and exchanges and cooperation in outer space, maintain outer space security, promote the long-term sustainable development of outer space activities, and make new and greater contributions to protecting the earth's homeland, enhancing people's livelihood and well-being, and serving the progress of human civilization.
