Beijing, January 27 (China News Network) -- The first Rongbaozhai Youth Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition and the Second National Children's Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition of "Children's Winter Olympics" opened on January 27 at the Qianmen Pavilion of Rongbaozhai Education in Beijing.

The exhibition is divided into three exhibition halls: "Calligraphy", "Calligraphy and Painting" and "Children's Art", covering the three themes of "Welcoming the Spring of the First Year", "Welcoming the Winter Olympics" and "Art Healing", and exhibiting nearly 600 calligraphy, Chinese paintings and children's paintings, aiming to build a platform for inheritance and innovation, display and exchange for young people who love art and traditional culture. Since the collection of exhibits in November 2021, the exhibition has received more than 10,000 submissions from more than 20 provinces, cities and regions across the country.

Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games sports icon "knife bearer", Zhang Huanguan, teacher of the School of Design of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and seal engraving artist, said at the opening event that the art of calligraphy is the carrier of traditional Chinese culture, and the calligraphy exhibits cover a variety of font styles such as seal calligraphy, lishu, cursive, and calligraphy, with a high professional level, reflecting the popularity of calligraphy education in the mainland.

From freehand to brushwork, the Chinese painting exhibits have made bold innovations while inheriting traditional techniques. Young children use paintings to express their attitude towards life, and their clumsy brushstrokes depict good wishes for the New Year and warm expectations for the Beijing Winter Olympics.

More than 100 paintings of children with autism are exhibited in the exhibition. The children's painting "Meet the Ice Ribbon" was completed by 7 children in cooperation and under the guidance of teachers, which took nearly a month to complete, reflecting the feelings of autistic children about the olympic spirit and strength, and conveying their voices welcoming the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The exhibition is hosted by Rongbaozhai Education, guided by the Art Education Professional Committee of the China Education Association and RongBaozhai, and supported by the China Women and Children Museum, the Beijing Olympic Culture Promotion Association, and the Beijing Growth Education Development Foundation, and will last until February 28.
