Engaged in calligraphy learning and creation for decades, I have been constantly seeking on the road of learning from the past and innovating, and I dare not be self-satisfied and stop at all. In recent years, while creating traditional calligraphy, I have begun to explore the works of "ink image", trying to find a more ideal and visually beautiful form of expression of traditional calligraphy.

Moxiang originated from Japanese calligraphy of the low-character school and is a major school of modern Japanese calligraphy. These "ink elephants" of mine are different from the Japanese style of ink elephants with few characters, but I also call them "ink elephants". I think they are more like "ink images", they are the various waves of ink, they are the images of ink, and the reflection of the "images" in my heart is called "ink reflecting the heart".

The reason why I have moved from traditional calligraphy to the exploration of abstract art expressions such as ink images is due to the influence of many abstract works of masters with various themes and styles that I have encountered in well-known museums and galleries around the world over the years. In the face of these works, I was unable to decipher and understand them for a while, but I was still willing to spend more time exploring, appreciating and thinking. Many majestic and hearty abstract artworks brought me a strong visual impact, which made me stop and not want to leave for a long time.

The creation of ink images breaks through the mechanical reflection of the camera, which is a free self-display of the mind, and the embodiment of the "mental image" that I cannot replicate. Each successful ink image is the only work in the world that is difficult to replicate in a specific state of mind, and it makes me experience the joy and excitement brought by the comfortable swimming of brush and ink and the free release of emotions. I was well aware of the difficulty and preciousness of this kind of creation, and I began to indulge in it unconsciously.

Emotion is the leavening agent and driving force of artistic creation, and it is only under the control of the subconscious mind that emotions can be used to drive creative ideas. I present these works in the hope that they can also bring such emotions and emotions to everyone.
