What qualities did Dai Yu fall in love with? Some say they are spiritually resonant soulmates, as evidenced by the fact that they all hate the "career economy." As a result, Baoyu's refusal to read and be self-motivated has also become an excellent quality in Daiyu's eyes, giving great support.
However, a detail in the thirty-fourth time shows that Daiyu's love for Baoyu is too blind, and she has never tried to fully understand Baoyu.

The thirty-fourth time, Baoyu was beaten to the ground by his father Jia Zheng, and Daiyu cried "like a peach with swollen eyes and full of tears." Next, the two have a short but strange conversation:
Although (Dai Yu) had ten thousand words, he just couldn't say them, and half a day fang sobbed and choked and said, "You can change everything from now on!" When Baoyu heard this, he sighed and said, "You can rest assured!" Don't say that. I died for these people, and I was willing!" ”
When Baoyu was beaten like this, Dai Yu was naturally distressed, and in addition to his heartache, he said, "You can change everything from now on." Did she really want Baoyu to change? Of course not, she just hoped that Baoyu would not be beaten again, and that she would seek all grievances to avoid disaster. The meaning of this sentence is the same as that of the raiders who advised Baoyu to "only make a look of reading, and also teach the old man to be less angry".
It was normal to say this at this moment, reflecting Daiyu's concern and heartache for Baoyu.
Look at Baoyu's reply again: "You can rest assured! Don't say that. I died for these people, and I was willing!" ”
This reply is so strange, "died for these people", "who do these people" refer to? Are they really talking about the same thing?
The author's writing is very clever, did not give them a chance to communicate further, was interrupted by "the second grandmother is coming", Dai Yu was afraid of being teased by Sister Feng, slipped away from the backyard.
In this way, the author leaves the reader with a detail to ponder. At the same time, it also left a lot of questions: Did Dai Yu know the reason why Bao Yu was beaten? Does Bao Yu understand the meaning of Dai Yu's "changed"? What does "you feel assured" mean? Who are these people referring to? Is Baoyu really "willing to die for these people"?
Solving these questions, we will find that not only is Daiyu's love for Baoyu too blind, but their thoughts are not on the same channel at all, which is simply the opposite, and Baoyu is a hypocrite who does a set.
Does Dai Yu know the reason why Bao Yu was beaten?
Of course not!
After Baoyu was beaten, only the raiders, Baochao, and Madame Wang paid attention to the reason for Baoyu's beating. The attacker was the first to ask Bao Ming, and then said to Bao Yu and Bao Chao, and then Madame Wang sent someone to ask, but was half hidden by the attacker.
In addition to these three people, there were two people who cared most about Baoyu who did not ask Why Baoyu was beaten, one was Jia Mu and the other was Daiyu.
Why don't they just ask? Because of their inertial cognition. In their eyes, Baoyu is perfect, never doing anything wrong, only refusing to study and be motivated makes his father dislike it, and only this one thing will make him be beaten by his father.
Therefore, when Baoyu was beaten, they took it for granted that it was the same reason, and naturally did not have to ask specifically. It is precisely with this kind of cognition that Dai Yu will say in her heartache, "You can change everything from now on."
This was Daiyu's blind love for Baoyu, she had never fully understood Baoyu, and she had no idea what Baoyu had done in places she couldn't see.
In this regard, Dai Yu and Jia Mu are exactly the same, they are all closed in information. Jia Mu did not tell her the truth because everyone flattered her, and Dai Yu was because she was "lonely and self-promising", so that no one was willing to pass on information to her.
Just think, Bao Chao suggested that the attackers conceal the information of Jia Huan's complaint, if Jia Mu, like Madame Wang, had some doubts and wanted to investigate, could she not find out? What happened in Jia Zhengzheng's main courtyard was not a secret, and it was asked casually. Madame Wang did not check because she did not want Jia Mu to worry, so she could only quietly ask the attacker.
This is the author's satire of Jia Mu and Dai Yu through this detail: Jia Mu and Dai Yu are both deaf and discerning people who should have insight into everything, but they both live in self-deception, and their understanding of Bao Yu is limited to an extremely one-sided part.
Does Bao Yu understand the meaning of Dai Yu's "changed"? What does "you feel assured" mean?
When Dai Yu cried and said, "You can change everything from now on", Bao Yu gave a reply of "you are at ease".
This is the second time Baoyu has said to Daiyu, "You can rest assured." The first time in the thirty-second time, it was Dai Yu who overheard Bao Yu say that Lin Girl did not speak, and Dai Yu was greatly moved and regarded as a confidant. Just when Baoyu came out and saw that Daiyu "seemed to have wiped tears", he thought that he had offended Daiyu somewhere, so he said the three words "you are at ease".
Many readers believe that this is Baoyu's confession to Daiyu, and interpret these three words as "you can rest assured, I only have you in my heart, and I can't hold anyone else."
Is this really the case? Combined with the second appearance of "you rest assured", the answer is self-explanatory. Because this time, after Baoyu said" "You can rest assured", he continued to say, "I will die for these people, and I am willing."
Notice that it is "dying for these people", not "dying for you". "These people" are naturally not just one person. Moreover, "these people" may not include Daiyu, otherwise he should say "you".
He was willing to "die for these people", can he still say that he only has Dai Yu in his heart?
Therefore, Baoyu's "you can rest assured" has never been a confession to Daiyu, but he believes that Daiyu supports all his stubborn behavior and supports him to be the Demon King of the Chaos World. He reassured Dai Yu that he would stick to the end.
This is the opposite of Baoyu and Daiyu's hearts: Dai Yu thinks that Bao Yu is the same as her, and there is only one other in her heart, but Bao Yu thinks that Dai Yu only wants to be a stubborn Demon King like him.
To put it another way, in a more popular way: Dai Yu thinks about love first, but Bao Yu thinks about naughty supremacy, they are never on the same channel, so there will be such a strange dialogue.
Is Baoyu really "willing to die for these people"?
From Baoyu's beating to Daiyu's visit, Baoyu's performance perfectly explains what a hypocrite is.
Dai Yu didn't know who "these people" were referring to, but the reader knew. Among the "people" were Jiang Yuhan and Jin Jun'er, because it was for these two people that he was beaten.
But is he really really "willing to die for these people"?
Oh, he is just tricking Daiyu, and his hypocrite behavior cannot deceive readers with God's perspective.
The interaction with Jiang Yuhan goes against the mainstream, and in the eyes of the mainstream like Jia Zheng, it belongs to the shameful behavior of "wandering and giving away private goods". If Bao Yu insists that he is not wrong, insists on not looking at his status and status only by looking at his character to make friends, he can also be regarded as a gentleman with the same appearance. However, when the Changshi official of the Zhongshun Palace pressed him, he betrayed Jiang Yuhan out of fear of being implicated, "Since he (the Changshi official) even knows such a secret matter, it is better to send him away than to say something else." Is it a gentleman who should dare to do it, do it all, and be afraid of people saying it? What are the consequences of "saying something else"? It was nothing more than being beaten by his father.
Therefore, even if he "died for these people, he was also willing", he was actually very afraid of dying.
The same is true for Kim Jun'er. Jin Jun'er's death, Bao Yu is the initiator, it is his provocation that makes Jin Jun'er punished, he witnessed the whole process, but did not show any expression, but "slipped away early".
Some people accused Bao Chao of being too indifferent to talk about Jin Jun'er's death, but they didn't think that Bao Yu had ever said a word for Jin Jun'er? Why didn't he stand up and take responsibility for Jin Jun'er? Can he do "die for these people, and willingly"?
He doesn't do it because he doesn't dare, he's a hypocrite who is afraid of being punished. Because of this, the author uses a detail to reflect that he is too careless in his conscience.
When Baoyu was awakened by Daiyu's crying, he was dreaming, "only to see Jiang Yuhan walk in and tell him about The Zhongshun Mansion taking him, and then see Jin Jun'er come in and cry about the love of throwing a well for him." We know that dreams are the projection of inner consciousness, and Bao Yu's dreams at this time reflect his inner guilt towards Jiang Yuhan and Jin Jun'er. And such guilt, he did not dare to show it, and said unashamedly, "I died for these people, and I am willing." In addition to making Dai Yu happy, even he himself didn't believe it.
Just now in his dream, he condemned his conscience and immediately said such a righteous and awe-inspiring words to Daiyu, and his hypocrisy was really worse than that of Jia Yucun.
Of course, this statement can also deceive Daiyu. Dai Yu, who was blinded by love, never thought about Bao Yu's words, and her blindness was really blind to the author's "heart is more than dry".
Xiang Yun once said that Baoyu was ruled by Daiyu, but in fact, it was Daiyu who was really controlled. She was controlled by Baoyu's sweet words, and she was also controlled by her own blindness, so that she could not see Baoyu's true face.
