Investment of 23 billion euros over the next five years Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance announces electrification strategy

Among them, according to the alliance's plan, by 2030, more than 15 models will be based on the CMF-EV platform, with up to 1.5 million cars produced on this platform every year. In addition, the Renault Mega E-Tech Electric, born on the platform, is on the road.

The most competitive electric platform, CMF-BEV, will be launched in 2024, and its platform will produce products with a range of more than 400 kilometers and excellent aerodynamics. Compared with the current Renault ZOE, the cost is reduced by 33% and the power consumption is reduced by more than 10%.

In addition to the platform, on the battery route, the alliance also gave the goal. Reduce battery costs by 50% in 2026 and 65% by 2028. Through this approach, by 2030, the Alliance will have a total of 220 GWh of evine vehicle battery production capacity at major production sites around the world.

For the battery technology route, the alliance prefers all-solid-state battery technology (ASSB), which will double the energy density of ASSB and greatly shorten the charging time to one-third compared with the current liquid lithium-ion battery. The alliance aims to mass-produce all-solid-state battery technology (ASSB) by mid-2028 and to further reduce costs to $65 per kWh in the future.

In terms of autonomous driving, by 2026, the alliance expects more than 10 million vehicles to be on the road, including 45 models equipped with autonomous driving systems. The alliance will launch its first full software-defined vehicle by 2025. With this car, alliances will improve the Over The Air performance of their cars throughout their lifecycle. This means customers integrating their cars into their digital ecosystem to deliver personalized experiences, new enhanced services, and value that reduces maintenance costs.
