Han Binghua: Designing needs to balance the expectations of post fans with artistic beauty

On September 26, 2019, China Post issued a set of 3 special stamps for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The designer is Han Binghua, and 6.8473 million pieces have been issued. The names of the stamps are: "International Science and Technology Innovation Center", "Convenient Flow of Elements" and "Quality Living Circle", which show the prosperity and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area from three angles. The stamp printing uses special ink to embellish the picture, highlighting the sense of science and technology and modernity of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" small book is a temporary addition. The side paper shows 11 representative buildings or landscapes of the 9+2 urban agglomeration, taking the perspective of the port, hong Kong's Central Financial Center, Macau's Ruins of St. Paul's, Canton Tower and Shenzhen's urban high-rise buildings.

The "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" special stamps are designed by the internationally renowned designer and artist Han Binghua, who told reporters that the design of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" special stamps is not simple, and it is not easy to integrate so many elements and contents into a small stamp, and to be recognized by editors and stamp fans. For example, the stamp of "International Science and Technology Innovation Center" needs to be very accurate when designing to show the skyscrapers lined up in Shenzhen, which building is next to which building. "For this reason, I went to Shenzhen many times, took pictures, looked for information, and finally began to design stamps."

Han Binghua: Designing needs to balance the expectations of post fans with artistic beauty

Due to the attention and attention paid to this set of stamps, Han Binghua needs to balance the expectations of the postmaster and the artistic beauty when designing, but the idea of the postmaster will be satisfied as long as he feels that it is right. For example, when he designed the third "Circle of Quality Life", the character shapes, movements and costumes he portrayed were very elaborate, and the Cantonese opera character in the middle of the picture, Du Liniang in "Peony Pavilion", could even see the flowers on the clothes. The Guanhai Tower of Nansha Wetland Park on the right, how many floors, how many stairs, and how many railings, are also carefully depicted by him.
