Transformed into a snow and ice arena
On January 20th, the Shougang Ski Jump in Shougang Park, Shijingshan District, Beijing, opened its light show to add luster to the upcoming Winter Olympics and the traditional Chinese New Year. In the blast furnace-lined Shougang Park, the ski jump has become the most unique scenery, it is a perfect combination of industrial elements and Olympic elements, during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, it will stage a moving scene of snow flying here. Among all the Venues of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, the Shougang Ski Jump is the first newly built competition venue completed in Beijing and the only snow competition venue in Beijing.
Shougang, which was established in 1919, is a national super large steel enterprise, a large enterprise group operating across industries and transnationals. In order to hold the Beijing Olympic Games, Shougang carried out a large-scale relocation in 2008, and Shougang Park was once silent.
In the short hibernation, new opportunities are brewing. After the successful bid for the 2015 Beijing Winter Olympics, with the entry of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and the completion of the Winter Olympic Games, the place has been revitalized. Construction of the Shougang Ski Jump began in December 2018 and was officially delivered in November 2019. After the completion of the Shougang Ski Jump, the Boiling Snow World Cup event was held that year, and the combination of the ski jump and the three huge cooling towers was stunning as soon as it was unveiled.
The close combination of the new landmark of capital city rejuvenation in the new era and the preparation of the Winter Olympic Games, the organic renewal of the old industrial zone, and the green and high-end development has also made Shougang Park praised by IOC President Bach many times. During the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, shougang ski jumping will hold two events, freestyle ski jumping and snowboard jumping, resulting in four gold medals.
Industrial heritage is new

In the process of renovation and construction, Shougang Park uses industrial relics to promote the protection and utilization of industrial relics such as Shougang's main factory area and Ertong factory area, and builds industrial incubation bases and leisure experience facilities according to local conditions.
In the North District Industrial Heritage Park, cultural and technological functions are mainly implanted, forming characteristic landscape belts and light shows, and creating more Internet celebrity punch cards. Use industrial relics such as railway tracks, pipe corridors, and conveyor belts to build rail greenways and skywalks to create public spaces with urban characteristics. At present, the No. 1 blast furnace has been built into the largest VR comprehensive experience hall in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and has become a new trend comprehensive park integrating culture, science and technology and entertainment. The Xiuchi, which stores the circulating water of ironmaking, is divided into two according to the functional needs, with the upper part being a man-made water landscape, and the underground part being an underground garage that can store 855 cars and a circular sunken exhibition hall. The "oxygen plant area" has been built into an office area and a supporting service area for shougang ski jumping.
Create a science and technology industry agglomeration area. Shougang Park has carried out the application demonstration of the application scenario of the Winter Olympics of Science and Technology, and 11 autonomous vehicle project enterprises have reached application cooperation, and 9 kinds of unmanned vehicles have entered the park to carry out test operations, and the cumulative test mileage has reached 150,000 kilometers. Combined with the unique sense of science fiction industrial heritage resources, Shougang and the local government focus on creating a science fiction industry agglomeration area. At present, it has settled in more than 10 science fiction enterprises such as China Science Fiction Research Center, Tencent, Popular Qitian, Tiantu Wanjing, and Future Affairs Administration. In January 2021, the International Olympic Committee officially approved Shougang Park (two areas of Industrial Heritage Park and Winter Olympic Plaza) as "Beijing Winter Olympic Park", marking the official formation of a major heritage of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
After the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Shougang Ski Jump will become the world's first permanently retained ski jumping venue, in addition to being used for snow competitions in winter, in the other three seasons it can also be transformed into a sports venue for water skiing, grass skiing, and even BMX according to actual needs. Driven by the Olympic effect, the park will help the development of ice and snow sports in China and become a bright pearl on the new landmark of urban rejuvenation.
