It is understood that the bouquet of awards for this Winter Olympic And Paralympic Games adopts a bouquet of velvet thread, which means warmth, peace and can be preserved permanently.
The weaving task of the Flowers of the Winter Olympics was participated in by 7 cities in the country, including Beijing and Shanghai, and Lianyungang City is the only city in Jiangsu Province to undertake this task and pass the review of the Organizing Committee of the Winter Olympic Games. In September 2021, the Lianyungang Women's Federation received the task of weaving 800 bouquets of awards for the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games from the Organizing Committee of the Winter Olympic Games. In order to complete this task on schedule with high quality, the Lianyungang Women's Federation found Shen Haiping, a volunteer of Heng'ai Action. "We gathered four teachers to sample, and after the sample was ready, it was sent to Shanghai for review, and after more than a week, we reported that our flowers were fully qualified and could be made in large quantities." Under the organization of the Lianyungang Women's Federation, more than 50 volunteers from ten crochet groups have devoted themselves to this glorious task, including handicraft training teachers from colleges and universities, non-hereditary inheritors of handicraft skills, folk hand-knitting experts, and volunteers from Heng'ai Action... However, it is not an easy task to get every flower done with high quality according to the standards of the sample. Shen Haiping said: "A small flower to hook about 108 stitches, a large flower is about 150 stitches, a bouquet of flowers with 18 flowers, it will hook more than 2400 stitches, plus the kung fu of winding, we make a complete bouquet of flowers in four or five hours." And each flower, its size, shape, spacing has strict requirements. ”
After countless attempts, everyone gradually got started, shortening the time to make bouquets from more than ten hours to about five hours. However, just when the flowering period was only more than a month away, an accident occurred, and the Olympic Organizing Committee of the Winter Olympic Games informed that the weaving flowers had been changed, and all the existing crocheted "Winter Olympic Flowers" bouquets could not be used.

In order to ensure that each bouquet of flowers is completed on time with high quality, volunteer mothers have overcome difficulties that are unimaginable to ordinary people. They work more than a dozen hours a day, until two or three o'clock in the morning. Some children have just been born and need to be taken care of, some have long-winded fingers have grinded out cracks, and some have committed cervical spondylosis, but everyone has not flinched. Volunteer Ding Yanqing, a twin single mother, was injured during knitting, but she persevered.
After more than two months of day and night weaving, more than 50 skilled mothers worked for more than ten hours a day, weaving a total of 840 bunches, 15120 Winter Olympic flowers, hooking more than 2.05 million stitches, exceeding the quota of the crochet task of the Winter Olympic flowers, and all of them were sent for trial. Zang Yongming, vice chairman of the Lianyungang Women's Federation, said: "The flower language of the bell flower is that happiness is coming. We feel both honored and responsible for this task. This batch of bell flowers represents the good wishes of our city's women sisters and caring volunteers for the Winter Olympics and the blossoming of the port city. ”
