Zhang Yulu, a post-80s nurse in charge: Let the elderly live better, and there is hope for the future

Zhang Yulu explained to reporters the main points of home care

Zhang Yulu was born in 1983 in Jieyang, Guangdong Province, and like most post-80s generations, she has an old age and a small life, and her life is busy and happy. However, compared with the white-collar workers who are walking in a hurry on the street, she has something special: others may go out to go shopping and see the scenery, but she only pays attention to the elderly when she goes out. When the reporter went with her to visit the long-term care insurance service recipients, she looked east and west in the community, and said "I have seen this old man several times" and then said "You see, this old man in a wheelchair is much better than before."

Graduated from the Nursing Department of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Zhang Yulu first worked as a nurse in the ICU ward of a public hospital for three years, and then served as the chief nurse of a private hospital for 10 years, is an expert in patient care, and is also the "most intimate person" in the minds of more than 200 guangzhou long-term care insurance beneficiaries who are responsible for the "Guangzhou Puyuan Pension" service.

Although Zhang Yulu does not directly visit the door to do nursing work, the professional and intimate service of the nurses is inseparable from the training she focuses on: every month she organizes nurses to provide nursing training and guidance to nurses and their families, and conducts intensive training twice a year. From the patient's limb care, washing and grooming and life care to how to assist with movement, assist with eating, lying down, excretory care to emotional care, psychological comfort, etc., she has to teach the service staff hand in hand to ensure that they have a good grasp.

Zhang Yulu demonstrated to reporters the skills of home care

"The particularity of home care is that it cannot give immediate support in first aid and other aspects, and it also needs professional guidance in the method of daily care." For example, many family members actually do not know that there is a simpler and better way to help patients get dressed and undressed; increase the number of turns over, which can avoid pressure sores caused by the skin being compressed for too long; the transfer of beds and chairs can increase the freshness of the patient's vision and exercise the body to a certain extent... We are to teach families how to save effort, not to strain their own bodies, but also to better take care of patients. ”

Zhang Yulu said that how to feed patients is also important. "For ordinary people, eating is a very simple thing, but for patients, feeding too large a mouth may not be able to swallow, will get stuck in the throat, serious and even life-threatening." Therefore, in terms of eating, nursing staff should observe carefully and be patient, and we will also teach nurses about first aid in this regard. In addition, there are also ways to help patients expel phlegm through effective coughing and slow down muscle atrophy through active and passive exercise. ”

She told reporters that the mental health problems of the elderly should also be paid attention to, in fact, the heart of the sick elderly is lonely, especially the hemiplegic elderly who have just fallen ill, the psychological gap is very large, and even some elderly people will lose their temper with their families and feel very irritable. "When the nursing staff comes to the door, they should observe this psychological reaction of the elderly in time, provide psychological comfort to the elderly and their families, help them gradually accept this state, and also let them see hope and feel happy." In addition, Zhang Yulu also emphasized the concern for the mental health of the patient's family. "The family may be able to take good care of the patient physically, but the psychological aspect is not so concerned, in fact, the family's own psychological pressure is also very large, and it may be difficult for them to alleviate it, so the long-term care insurance is also a psychological respite for the patient's family." Families are more willing to do it when they can relax for a moment, even when they wait for the caregiver to leave before taking over the care of the patient. ”

"Why are you so keen on pension work?" The reporter asked. "We all have old days. When I do this work and make the old people live better and better, I feel that there is hope for the future. When walking out of the community, Zhang Yulu told reporters.
