More than 6,000 veterans in Chaoyang District volunteered for the Winter Olympics

"Volunteer Winter Olympics Together for the Future" - Chaoyang District "Capital Veterans" volunteers to welcome the Winter Olympics theme volunteer activities, recently held in Chaoyang District Olympic Village Street Science Park Community. 620 volunteer service teams and 6675 veterans in Chaoyang District will participate in the service guarantee of the Winter Olympics in 14 fields such as event service, publicity and guidance, and serve as safety and stability information officers, urban operation monitors, policy and legal publicists, and community mass attendants.

The Chaoyang District Veterans Affairs Bureau recently organized 310 district-level "Capital Veterans" volunteers to carry out special training for the Winter Olympics in the form of online live broadcast, covering "Winter Olympic Volunteer Service English", "Volunteer Service Spirit", "Winter Olympic Knowledge and Ice and Snow Sports", "The Power of Empathy", etc. Driven by the instructor, Chen Lu, China's first figure skating world champion and women's singles world champion, volunteers enthusiastically participated in learning and felt the concept of volunteer service with their hearts.

Veteran Tao Zhenguo volunteered at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. At that time, the daughter was about to give birth, Tao Zhenguo and his wife discussed, the wife went to the hospital to take care of his daughter, and he continued to participate in the Olympic volunteer service. In September 2020, the Chaoyang District Veterans Affairs Bureau held the flag awarding ceremony of the "Capital Veterans" Volunteer Service Team, and Tao Zhenguo responded positively and participated in the "Capital Veterans" Volunteer Service Team in the streets of the Olympic Village and became a "Double Olympic" volunteer. Volunteer to participate in security patrols, stand guard duty, pick up white garbage, place bicycles, participate in garbage sorting "duty in front of the barrel" and other volunteer services.
