The flowers that have been dispatched are still waiting for packaging in the base, and will be sent to various sales stores in Shanghai within 1-2 days.

"This year's phalaenopsis orchid market is exceptionally good, showing a stronger momentum than before the epidemic," Sun Hongyang, head of inner Mongolia flower, said in an interview with the 21st Century Business Herald reporter, the flower market has been greatly impacted in 2020 and 2021, especially in the Spring Festival of 2021, which is more obvious, and the impact of the epidemic has led to a large number of finished products being slow to sell.

According to the 2019 Annual Flower Industry Study, in the Shanghai market alone, the flower market of the New Year festival has a sales scale of 300 million yuan. Phalaenopsis orchid has always been one of the most popular flower species in the New Year flower, according to the hema platform data, since the Spring Festival New Year flower was listed, the sales of various types of New Year's Eve cut flowers and potted plants increased by more than 65% compared with the previous month. In beijing and Shanghai, two super-first-tier cities, Phalaenopsis orchids have become the sales champions of the New Year Flower.

It is worth noting that this year's Spring Festival is the first time that the Phalaenopsis orchid in the northern desert has served as the New Year's Eve flower of Shencheng. "In the past, the price of a pot of 8 phalaenopsis orchids in the market during the New Year was basically from 1,000 yuan, and our price this year will be at least 30%-50% lower than that in the market." The person in charge of procurement in Hema Garden further explained that through direct procurement from the source, it is not only to reduce costs, but also to do the selection of front-end varieties according to the needs of users. "At present, more than 70% of the flowers in Hema Garden are directly harvested from the place of origin, so that the cost of the same variety and quality can be reduced by about 20%-30% overall."

On the Hema APP green plant hot list, Phalaenopsis orchids occupy six of the TOP10. Surprisingly, in the sales of phalaenopsis orchids, the red system accounts for only 40% of the overall sales, while other colors account for 60%, and the young people in Shanghai prefer the anti-traditional color phalaenopsis orchid, and the white and orange-yellow phalaenopsis orchids sell better in Shanghai.

"This pure white phalaenopsis orchid is currently an Internet celebrity hit on the Little Red Book, not only as a New Year flower and gift, the Phalaenopsis orchid market also shows a trend of youth and daily life." Sun Hongyang pointed to a huge pot of "V3" phalaenopsis orchids and explained, "At the same time, one step closer to consumers, serving local consumers in Shanghai, we can immediately reach the hands of consumers with the phalaenopsis orchids that have just bloomed." According to the big data and orders of Hema, the production time is adjusted, and the release is carried out more planned to ensure that the flowers obtained by consumers are fresher and the maintenance time is longer. ”

At present, Hema maintains more than 70 kinds of flower material sales online and offline all year round, reaching 100 kinds in Shanghai, Beijing and other cities. Based on the big data of the store, the platform can place orders one week in advance, pick according to the order in the short term, estimate sales in the long term, and plant in a targeted manner. With the supply chain road of the base directly opened by the fresh e-commerce platform, the flower market may usher in a major change in category and price.

According to iResearch data, the scale of the flower e-commerce market in 2020 reached more than 72.06 billion yuan, an increase of more than 20 billion yuan compared with the market size of 53.51 billion yuan in 2019. Compared with the same habit of buying flowers and vegetables in developed countries, the mainland flower industry is still in the early stage of development.
