The 11th National College Students' Mechanical Innovation Design Competition

The Chongqing competition opened at Chongqing University

186 teams from 18 universities in Chongqing participated in the PK

The theme of this year's competition is:

"Machinery innovation promotes the modernization of agriculture

Natural harmony to a new level of biomimicry"

Students need to design and produce it for

Production of domestic cereals and 10 kinds of vegetables

Small specialized machinery for sowing, management and harvesting

or with the goal of improving the motion performance of bionic machinery

"Bionic Frog" and "Bionic Butterfly"

Bionic butterflies flew up and amazed the audience

Butterflies, with their unique beauty and graceful flight posture, have long been a source of inspiration for biology and bionics.

At the competition site, the "bionic butterfly" designed by Liu Sixian's team from Chongqing University of Technology flew up, amazed the audience and won applause from the audience.

I saw a "butterfly" take off statically from the palm of his hand, and then, dancing, flying and turning around on the runway, flexible and free. He introduced that the "bionic butterfly" designed by the team has independent limbs and a flight endurance of up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. "In today's technological advances, we use the biological characteristics of butterflies to design biomimetic machines to create lighter, more efficient and more sustainable mechanical systems." Liu Sixian said.

In the future, biomimetic mechanical designs may be more elaborate and complex, not only mimicking the external characteristics of butterflies, but also going down to the level of their biological mechanisms to achieve more precise and efficient biomimetic mechanical systems.

Design hills according to local conditions, good agricultural machinery

Chongqing is mountainous, with mountains and hills accounting for 98% of the area. In this competition, many entries aimed at small agricultural machinery suitable for Chongqing's hilly landform.

In Chongqing, pepper cultivation is an important agricultural industry. However, many of the growing areas are located in hilly areas, where the land form is complex and undulating, which brings certain difficulties to agricultural production. In such terrain conditions, the large pepper transplanting machines on the market are often difficult to adapt to and cannot work normally on these complex terrains, and most pepper farmers still rely on traditional manual transplanting methods, which are not only labor-intensive, but also inefficient.

To this end, the team of the R&D Center for Modern Agricultural Processing Technology and Equipment of Southwest University has developed a new solution - a small and efficient pepper transplanter specially designed for hilly terrain. This planter has the advantages of small size, light weight, pure electric power, etc., and the clip-type seedling storage can realize the automation of the transplanting process, which can greatly facilitate farmers to plant peppers in hilly areas.

Coincidentally, the tartary buckwheat harvesting and threshing integrated automatic harvester developed by the team of Chongqing University is also aimed at the hilly areas of Chongqing, according to the team's survey results, the current agricultural machinery market for tartary buckwheat seed, management and harvesting equipment and facilities are far from meeting the production demand. Tartary buckwheat is mostly operated by small-scale retail households, the distribution is relatively scattered, and the terrain of Chongqing is undulating, so small agricultural machinery with flexible action, lower energy consumption and lower cost is more suitable. The "tartary buckwheat harvesting and threshing integrated automatic harvester" developed by the team can be remotely controlled, with functions such as seedling support, harvesting, threshing, and cleaning, and can best cope with the rugged ground road conditions in southwest China.

"For each mechanical innovation design competition, the organizing committee will carefully design the theme of the competition in combination with the background of the times." Li Pengcheng, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office of Chongqing University, said that this competition hopes that college students can pay attention to agriculture and innovate agricultural machinery. The winning team of this competition will enter the national finals and "compete" with college students from other provinces and cities.
