On January 19th, as the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics are approaching, the 6th China Disabled Ice and Snow Sports Season Ice and Snow Experience Relay Activity of "Moving Toward the Future Together and Adding Style to the Winter Olympics" was successfully carried out in Guangyuan, Sichuan Province, and more than 20 autistic families and more than 20 volunteers in the city participated in the ice and snow experience relay activity.
The event was sponsored by the China Association of Mentally Disabled Persons and Relatives and Friends, the China Sports Management Center for the Disabled, and the China Association for the Promotion of Disabled Persons; the Self-service Station for Autistic Parents in Sichuan Province of the China Fine Association, and co-organized by the Guangyuan Autism Rehabilitation Association, the Guangyuan Association of Mentally Disabled Persons and Relatives and Friends, and the Guangyuan Lizhou District Turtle Special Education and Training Center.
Volunteers and parents took the children to ski in the snow, ride snowmobiles, play yo-yo ball, build snowmen, and have snowballs, and the children's participation was very high and they had a lot of fun.
"Through skiing and snow playing, children can not only deeply perceive winter, exercise, but also have the opportunity to interact normally with the people around them, which is a very good form of activity and very meaningful." A mom said.
"This ice and snow experience activity, my child participated as an ordinary tourist, when I saw him and other tourists around me in harmony, I felt that the distance between him and society was shortened, I was both happy and excited!" A dad was filled with emotion.
Through vivid and interesting ice and snow experiences, the event popularized the knowledge of the Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics, widely disseminated the culture of ice and snow sports, further promoted the spirit of the Winter Paralympic Games, and actively created a strong atmosphere for the majority of disabled people and their relatives and friends to welcome the 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics, so that more autistic children and parents could go out of their homes and share the joy of ice and snow sports.
In recent years, the First People's Hospital of Lizhou District of Guangyuan City (Guangyuan Mental Health Center) has focused on the construction of pediatric psychiatry and pediatric rehabilitation departments, formed the brand advantage of provincial key specialties, and actively explored the rehabilitation mode of autism medical and education integration and the socialized functional training and teaching mode of autistic children with Lizhou District Little Turtle Special Education and Training Center.
