Zhang Wenhui, born in 1971 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, graduated from the School of Art of Inner Mongolia University in 1998, graduated from the 14th Seminar of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2007, graduated from the China Academy of Art in 2012 with a master's degree in fine arts, associate professor of Hebei Environmental Engineering College, member of China Artists Association, member of the research group of oil painting institute of China Academy of Art, researcher of Beijing Contemporary Freehand Oil Painting Institute, researcher of Hebei Academy of Painting.

From Zhang Wenhui's works, we can feel a casual and honest attitude. His colors are frank and simple, and his emotions are hidden. Perhaps in line with Confucius's saying that "the literary quality is polite, then the gentleman", his picture seems to be impartial and commensurate with the literary quality. In his "Not a Good Man To the Great Wall" series, the various faces of the outside world are easily combined with the famous local scenery to create a strange atmosphere, but you have to admit that this is the most familiar scene you often see. This seems to be a hint that the most familiar is not necessarily strange, and what makes you feel strange may not be familiar to you. The artist's task, sometimes, is precisely to mobilize the parts of the feelings that you should have discovered but did not discover, to surprise and immerse yourself in the strangeness of your own feelings.
