Duan Tingting told reporters that provincial capital cities often concentrate high-quality medical resources and undertake more urgent and complex medical treatment tasks in the province or region, although there are many and strong measures for the publicity and mobilization of unpaid blood donation, but often the clinical use of blood is still very tense. Taking Hefei as an example, the rapid development of medical institutions stationed in Feifei and the influx of patients from other places have brought about a sustained and rapid growth in demand for clinical blood. Moreover, there is still a seasonal and structural blood shortage, and the shortage of blood cannot be completely avoided, which brings great pressure to the current and future blood security work.

"In 2021, Hefei university groups donated 22,000 blood donations, with a total donation of 6.317 million milliliters of whole blood, accounting for 19.5% of the total blood donations in Hefei." Duan Tingting believes that blood donation in colleges and universities has made positive contributions to promoting the development of unpaid blood donation, leading the new trend of spiritual civilization, and building a harmonious society, and should continue to strengthen the work of unpaid blood donation in colleges and universities.

Based on this, she suggested further improving the demonstration and leadership mechanism for colleges and universities to take the lead in blood donation and create a strong atmosphere of unpaid blood donation. At the same time, it is also necessary to improve the commendation and incentive mechanism for unpaid blood donation in colleges and universities, combine unpaid blood donation with college credits and relevant evaluations, and reflect the affirmation and encouragement of unpaid blood donors in colleges and universities.

"Publicity and education on unpaid blood donation in colleges and universities should also be continuously strengthened."
