The gourd is one of the traditional mascots of the Chinese nation and an important carrier of national culture. There are many gourd seeds in the gourd, which means many children and many blessings, and "gourd" and "Fluke" are harmonious, which is also a symbol of wealth.
On the morning of January 18th, the International Students' Institute of Changchun University of Technology invited Teacher Li Hongda, the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Jilin Province, to the school to explain the gourd painting production method to the international students and teach the gourd painting making skills by hand.
The international students carefully studied the essentials of making gourd paintings, and then began to experience the making skills of gourd paintings themselves. After the teacher's guidance, everyone gradually mastered the skill, after an hour of hard work, a variety of patterns were presented on the gourd, and everyone excitedly signed their names on the gourd, planning to treasure it.
Su Lei, a student from Bangladesh, painted the flags of China and Bangladesh on the gourd to wish the two countries friendship. Some international students painted the Mascot of the Chinese Winter Olympics "Snow Rongrong" on the gourd, and some international students wrote "China Refueling" to wish the Winter Olympics a complete success.
After the experience, the international students took photos with Teacher Li with their own works and thanked the teachers for their careful guidance.
In order to allow international students to fully experience Chinese culture, Changchun University of Technology has held activities such as writing blessing characters and tying Chinese knots. So that international students can more personally feel the charm of Chinese culture.
