As an important part of the city's economy, the night economy is an important indicator of a city's economic vitality. 2019 is known as the "first year of China's urban night economy", from this year, the Financial National Weekly, the lookout think tank and relevant institutions to form a research group to compile the "China City Night Economy Influence Report", objective analysis and independent evaluation of the influence of the urban night economy, showing the achievements, experience and enlightenment of the development of the urban night economy.

In 2021, the research group further adjusted and improved the evaluation plan of the urban night economy, not only increasing the promotion link of the candidate cities (districts and counties) of China's urban night economy, but also adjusting the indicators of the professional evaluation dimension of the night economy of Chinese cities and their proportions.

According to the overall score, Chongqing, Changsha, Qingdao, Chengdu, Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Tianjin stood out from the 30 shortlisted cities and became the top ten cities with economic influence Chinese New Year's Eve 2021. Judging from the list, Changsha, which ranks second, continues to maintain its leading edge in the night economy.

In this list, the research group also added the evaluation of night economic influence zones and counties for the first time, of which 20 districts and counties such as Changsha Tianxin District and Changsha Furong District stood out from 60 shortlisted districts and counties and entered the list of the top 20 districts and counties with economic influence Chinese New Year's Eve 2021.

In the past year, many cities have taken the night economy as a breakthrough to shape the new momentum of urban industrial transformation and energy level upgrading, and create a phenomenon-level "city that never sleeps", at the same time, more and more cities will light up at night and build momentum on this new track. At present, the night economy of mainland cities is entering a new stage of development.

Based on the observation and thinking of the current night economy development, the research group formed the "Ten Observations and Predictions" of the development of the urban night economy, sorting out and summarizing the innovative cases, pain points, and development suggestions that emerged in the process of urban night economy development from different dimensions, which will be presented one by one in the "China Urban Night Economy Influence Report (2021)".
