Nanning, January 19 (Huang Lingyan) -- Mao Zhonghua, chief procurator of the People's Procuratorate of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said on the 19th that Guangxi is closely concerned about risks and hidden dangers such as border "three nons" personnel and smuggling of frozen goods, and in 2021, 2,613 people will be prosecuted for crimes that hinder the management of national (border) borders and epidemic prevention and control, an increase of 110.4%.

The Fifth Session of the 13th People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was held from January 17 to 21. Mao Zhonghua made the above remarks when he delivered a report on the work of the People's Procuratorate of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to the general assembly.

He said that Guangxi procuratorial organs have actively invested in the construction of a higher level of safety and security in Guangxi, guarded the "South Gate of China" with solid procuratorial guarantees, and played a role in consolidating and developing ethnic unity, social stability, and border tranquility in the past year, approving the arrest of 44,882 criminal suspects of various types and prosecuting 64,414 people, up 11.9% and 23% respectively.

In response to the problem of cold chain food safety at border ports, Guangxi procuratorial organs have promoted the plugging of regulatory loopholes and helped prevent and control the epidemic at the border; at the same time, they have strictly prevented and cracked down on all kinds of infiltration, sabotage, subversion and separatist activities to safeguard national political security.

In addition, Guangxi procuratorial organs have promoted international judicial pragmatic cooperation, organized teachers to teach Lao procurators remotely, operated the official website of the China-ASEAN Member States Attorneys General Meeting, published rule of law information, uploaded online courses on training, and promoted exchanges with procuratorial organs of ASEAN countries during the epidemic period.

In terms of service opening up and development, Guangxi procuratorial organs have strengthened cooperation with procuratorial organs in areas along the new land-sea corridor in the western region, substantively operated the procuratorial work stationed in various areas of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and handled 924 cases of endangering the new corridor and obstructing the construction of the free trade zone in accordance with the law.

According to reports, Guangxi procuratorial organs will carry out the struggle against organized crime and evil on a regular basis, and severely punish crimes such as drugs, pyramid schemes, telecommunications network fraud, and obstructing epidemic prevention and control in accordance with the law.
