Book of Han: Jinan once had a dragon

1. The Laiwu boulder suddenly stood up

In the first month of 78 BC, a loud noise came from the southwest of Laiwu, like the sound of thousands of people. In the past, there was a huge stone 1-foot-5-foot-high standing there, 48 feet large, and 8 feet underground. Next to the boulder, thousands of white birds gathered there. That place, now called Guanshan, is located 50 miles southwest of Laiwu. (In the first month of the third year of Yuan Feng, there were thousands of voices in the southern Hungarian-Hungarian area of Laiwu Mountain.) As far as the eye can see, there are large stones standing on their own, five feet high, forty-eight circumferences, and eight feet deep into the ground. Three stones are feet, and there are thousands of white birds next to the stone standing. Present-day Guanshan Mountain, fifty miles southwest of Laiwu)

Book of Han: Jinan once had a dragon

At first glance, this passage appears to record a huge meteorite falling on Laiwu. Wei is an ancient quantifier, it is said that the circumference of eight feet is a circumference, a circle with a diameter of one foot is a circumference, and karma is 3.14 feet for a circumference. According to the latter calculation, 23 feet high, 150 feet perimeter meteorite is also unimaginable, the density range of ordinary meteorites is 3.0-3.7 g/cm3, mathematical friends may wish to convert, this boulder if it is a meteorite, more than 40,000 tons, and the largest meteorite found in the world so far - the Khoba meteorite weighs only 60 tons.

If it wasn't a meteorite, such a boulder suddenly stood up, what kind of divine power caused it?

2. A stone beast that can walk

In 324 AD (the eighth year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty), a miraculous thing happened in the north of Pingling County, where the stone beast actually ran to the shanshigou in the southeast of the city overnight, and formed a very obvious road from the north of the city to the southeast of the city, densely packed with the claw marks of wolves and foxes (the stone beasts in the north of Pingling City in Jinan suddenly moved to the southeast Shanshigou overnight, and there were more than a thousand traces of wolves and foxes, and the traces were all roads).

Book of Han: Jinan once had a dragon

It is estimated that this incident caused widespread panic at the time. It was certainly not the wolf fox that moved the stone beast, it is estimated that someone deliberately created such an illusion for ulterior motives. Coincidentally, during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, the stone lion under the Xie'en terrace in Le'an Prefecture, Jinan Province, was secretly moved to the ground again, which once again caused panic among the locals, and simply smashed the stone lion (in Yongle, the stone lion under the Xie'en stage of Le'an Prefecture moved itself to the field, and the natives were horrified and destroyed).

3. The legendary phoenix came twice

In 73 BC, the phoenix gathered in Qiancheng (the first year of the original year, the Fenghuang emperor gathered in the thousand multiplier); in 85 AD, the phoenix gathered in Feicheng (Yuan and the second year, the Fenghuang gathered in Feicheng).

Book of Han: Jinan once had a dragon

Did the legendary phoenix really fly to Greater Jinan twice? Biologists have long agreed on this point, and it is estimated that the ancients mistakenly regarded pheasants or peacocks as phoenixes.

4, Bai Lin also haunted Greater Jinan

In 122 BC, when Emperor Wu of Han was hunting in Yongyi, he captured a white unicorn with one horn and five hooves, believing that this was a very auspicious thing, and not only created the song of "Bai Lin" to praise this matter, but also changed the era name to "Yuan Hunting". After this incident, Bai Lin became the well-known Xiangrui.

And Kangxi's "Chronicle of Jinan Province" also records a strange incident in which Bai Lin was discovered in the territory. The story takes place in February 279 (the fifth year of The Xianning Dynasty of the Western Jin Dynasty), and Bai Lin was found in Pingyuan County and Mane County (白麟見平原, 鬲县).

What is even more bizarre is that in 1610 (the thirty-eighth year of the Ming Dynasty), a cow from a family named Wang Qiheng in Licheng County actually gave birth to a unicorn, and it is said that a mysterious fire suddenly lit during childbirth, and when the fire was extinguished, the unicorn cub also died (Licheng lifted the wang Qiheng family cattle to produce a lin, and the fire broke out during childbirth). Before long, the fire went out and died). Highly suspicious, this may be the story of Wang Juren, who could not pass the entrance examination, who made up his own story, in order to imply to the outside world that he had a genius. Unfortunately, this story did not get an official echo, and I did not see the following of his later Zhongjinshi and the like.

5. Various dragons have been discovered eight times

More annoying than the phoenix and the unicorn is the dragon. By the 28th year of the Kangxi Dynasty, the practice of discovering dragons within the scope of Greater Jinan had been recorded 8 times:

In September 124 (the third year of Yanguang in the Eastern Han Dynasty), a Yellow Dragon was discovered in Licheng (Huanglong see in Jinan Licheng),

In 282 AD (the third year of the Western Jin Dynasty), in the leap month of August, two white dragons (white dragons and two dragons were found in Licheng);

In June 324 (the second year of Taining of the Eastern Jin Dynasty), the people of Qi prefecture said that eight dragons were found at the mouth of the Jihe River (see the ascension of the eight dragons at the mouth of the Qizhou Yanji River);

In April 558 (the ninth year of Northern Qi Tianbao), the dragon was discovered in the Qizhou Houtang (龍見祁州後堂);

In June 964 (the fifth year of the Northern Song Dynasty), a fireball fell on the north gate of Dizhou (Huimin), and people found a golden dragon-shaped monster coiled on the east pillar of the city tower, with a fishy smell and claws the size of three feet. When I went to see it during the day, I found that there were still 36 smoke marks and claw marks on the walls (there was a fire in Dezhou that fell from the sky to the North Gate City Tower, and there was something holding the east pillar, dragon-shaped gold, three feet long, and its breath was fishy. If you look at it, there are smoke marks on the wall, claw marks thirty-six);

In the spring of 974 (the seventh year of the Northern Song Dynasty), in the north of The City of Dizhou, another incident occurred about the fire into a dragon (There is fire in Dizhou that falls to the north of the city, and there are things like dragons);

In 1382 (the fifteenth year of the Reign of Emperor Hongwu), a dragon was discovered in a well in the southwest corner of the city of Le'an Prefecture (i.e., Wuding). Because of this, in February of that year, the emperor issued an edict exempting Shandong Province from taxes and grain (Ryumi in the well, southwest of Le'an Prefecture. In February, the shandong tax was exempted);

In 1587 (the fifteenth year of the Ming Dynasty), a dragon was discovered in Xincheng County, Jinan Province (新城龙見). This year, there was a major epidemic in Shanghe, an earthquake in Leling, a drought in Putai, a famine in Linyi, locusts in Laiwu, and gnats in Qidong. It seems that the dragon that appeared in that year was a plague dragon that plagued the people.

On February 27, 1677 (the sixteenth year of the Qing Kangxi Dynasty), a dragon was discovered in Xintai County, Jinan Province.

It seems that Licheng is really the land of Dragon Xing! In the first two times, was it because the people found the yellow snake and the white snake? Among the 8 incidents of the appearance of the divine dragon, only the incident of discovering the dragon at the bottom of the well in Le'an Prefecture in the early Ming Dynasty was more affordable, in exchange for the exemption of Shandong tax grain, Zhu Yuanzhang was really a good dragon Tianzi.

6. Even the branches

"In heaven wish to be a winged bird, in the earth wish to be a branch." Bai Juyi's "Long Hate Song" let many people know Lian Lizhi. This magical East East, we also have Jinan. I don't know if it was recorded once.

In 116 AD, in the spring month of the third year of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Lian Lizhi (Dongpingling Shu Lianli) was first discovered in Dongpingling County, Jinan County.

More than four hundred years later, in 520 AD (the first year of the Northern Wei Dynasty), Lian Lizhi was again discovered at Lingshou Mountain in Jinan County (Lingshou Mountain, Jinan County, Qizhou). Lianli, that is, the original non-rooted trees grew together, today, this kind of thing seems to be not too rare in nature.

7. Eight melons and the same

In 116 AD, (the third year of the first year of the Eastern Han Dynasty), in March of the same year when Lian Lizhi was discovered, a magical plant was also found in Dongpingling - there were melons living in symbiosis, and eight melons were the same. In the eyes of the ancients, Tongti was almost as miraculous as Lian Li, so it was recorded. In addition, the ancients also believed that a seedling that grew more than one ear was a jiahe, and as soon as it was found, it was recorded and reported to the saint (and may be rewarded). Records of Jiahe abound in the Chapter on Disasters, so I won't list them here.

8. Six-eyed turtle

In April 502, a man named Wang Hui of Changshan County captured a magical turtle with six eyes on its head and the word "Wan Huan" engraved under its abdomen, along with Gua Zhao (in April of the second year of Zhongxing, the King of Changshan Hui obtained a different turtle, and the turtle had six eyes and one head, and the word "Wan Huan" under the abdomen and a gua zhao).

Now look, this alien turtle should be genetically mutated, the ancients superstitious, coupled with the elephant gua gui zhao, it seems even more divine!

9. White crow

It is said that the crows under the sky are as black as black. However, in 1526 (the fifth year of Daming Jiajing), a small white crow was found in a crow's nest in Qihe County, Jinan Province (Jiajing five years, Qihe crow's nest white chick). Is this the crow's gene, or is it that the white bird with ulterior motives laid its eggs in the crow's nest? Don't cuckoos often do this kind of thing?

10. Horses give birth to eggs

Something even more bizarre than the white crow happened again in the Ming Dynasty. In 1593 (the twenty-first year of the Ming Dynasty), a horse in the family of a commoner in Puji Town (which should be today's Puji) in Zhangqiu County actually laid eggs (zhangqiu Puji town folk have horses laying eggs). Mammals lay eggs, it is said that only a few animals such as platypus and echidnas do this, how can horses lay eggs, is it sick? Unfortunately, this document is not very well documented, otherwise it would provide a case for contemporary biology.

11. Double-headed cattle

In the Disaster Chapter, there are three records of cattle mutations. The first is in 1609 (the thirty-seventh year of the Ming Wanli calendar), "The people of Jinan produced cattle, two heads and three noses, four eyes and two mouths", the second is 1644 (the first year of Qing Shunzhi, "Lijin folk calves, two heads, one body, two tails"; the third is 1654 (the summer of the eleventh year of Qing Shunzhi, Zouping drought, there are cattle born of five legs". Now it seems that this two-headed cow and five-legged cow are all biological mutations, abnormal, but not impossible.

12, Li Mei winter results

In the winter of 1685 (the twenty-fourth year of the Qing Kangxi Dynasty), a plum tree in Yucheng County, Jinan Province, actually came to fruition (Yucheng Li Meishi). Plum plum seems to be a kind of fruit tree grafted from plums and plums, and the winter results of plum plums in the north are indeed strange. However, then again, it is not surprising that the pear tree can bloom in autumn, catching up with the warm winter of that year, and there is a frost-resistant plum plum that bears fruit in winter.

13. Quadruplets & triplets

In 1677 (the sixteenth year of the Kangxi Dynasty), "Zouping pregnant woman gave birth to four sons". This is the only case of quadruplets recorded in Kangxi's "Chronicle of Jinan Province", and it should also be the first case of natural conception and childbirth recorded in the history of Jinan. It should also be regarded as providing a regional case for contemporary reproductive medicine research. The same book also records three cases of triplets, namely: 964 (the fifth year of the Northern Song Dynasty), "Dezhou Min Zhao Si wife one birth three men"; 988 (northern Song Dynasty Duan Gong yuan year), "QiZhou Xu Mei wife one birth three men"; 1571 (Ming Longqing five years), "LiJinmin one birth three sons".
