The museum is filled with strange stones of different shapes and a variety of colors, which is the treasure that Liu Decheng has collected for more than 20 years.
As we walked, we admired the wonders of nature and admired the curiosity of collectors. The strange stones here are divided into colors, including white, green, black, yellow, red, and brown; in terms of region, there are Qinghai strange stones, as well as agate stones in Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang; in terms of types, there are colorful and colorful picture stones, and shaped stones with different shapes... How much effort it takes to collect so many treasures of nature. For a while, I understood the meaning of "heavenly reward for hard work".

One day in June 1999, a relative brought a small stone with a fine pattern picked up from Nomuhong Township in Dulan County, and wanted Liu Decheng to find someone who knew how to identify it in Xining. Entrusted with some inquiries, Liu Decheng rushed to the Bayi Road Strange Stone Market.
It's a sea of stones! A variety of strange stones deeply attracted Liu Decheng, and since then, he has formed an indissoluble relationship with strange stones.
On weekends, holidays and winter and summer vacations, Liu Decheng often met with Shi You and drove to the river to pick up strangely shaped stones, at that time, he had no concept of stones, but in the mozzie of strange stones, he had an inexplicable sense of intimacy. No matter the spring, summer, autumn and winter, wind and rain, the heat and cold, there is always his figure looking for stones. His footprints have traveled all over Qinghai, Lanzhou and Tianzhu in Gansu, Alxa Left Banner in Inner Mongolia, Hami in Xinjiang, Nyingchi in Tibet, Liuzhou in Guangxi, Wenjiang in Sichuan and other places, and it has been 23 years since he found it.

Liu Decheng's enlightenment teacher who plays with stones is Gao Zhiyi, founding president of the Qinghai Ornamental Stone Association. Gao Lao taught Liu Decheng the essentials of strange stone collection from the aspects of stone quality, stone shape, color, texture, picture, and charm. This allowed Liu Decheng to have a high starting point as soon as he entered the industry, and at the same time, due to Liu Decheng's painstaking research and diligent study, the art of appreciating stones has improved by leaps and bounds.
Liu Decheng appreciates and collects strange stones advocating the unity of "fine way" and "figurative", and pays attention to the pursuit of collection characteristics. His collection of "Yingke Pine", "Red Sun", "Nian Youyu", "Auspicious Ruyi", "Crystal Elbow" and other strange stones have won gold and silver awards in the national and Qinghai stone exhibitions. His collection of strange stones adheres to the principle of "less and fine" and "small and fine", and the characteristics and style of the collection are mainly reflected in his series of fine stone combinations.
His "shoes and hats" series of strange stones have successively collected more than 20 stone hats, shoes, boots, shoe lasts, etc. of different forms, including baby shoes, children's shoes, sneakers, cotton shoes, rain boots, felt boots, three-inch golden lotuses, etc. of the stone; he has collected more than ten pieces of strange stones of the "Moon Series", including "the stars holding the moon", "the moon to the Mid-Autumn Festival", "a thousand miles together chan juan", "a good full moon", "a bright moon born on the sea", "the sun and the moon are glowing", and so on. Liu Decheng said: "The aura of the strange stones and meteorites to collect the heavens and the earth, and the essence of the pregnant sun and the moon, are the material and spiritual wealth that nature has given to mankind. Every time he collected a strange stone in the group of stones, he was excited, and there was a kind of joy that "one stone can become one, and one can be completed quickly". For example, if you collect "plum, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum", collect "plum", you think of "orchid chrysanthemum" behind the collection. When the general "Meilan Bamboo Chrysanthemum" is collected, I want to collect the fine "Meilan Bamboo Chrysanthemum". The insatiable and never-ending pursuit has tempered his vision and enhanced his taste of collection and appreciation. When he collects a certain zodiac stone of the "Zodiac", especially when he collects a fine zodiac stone, if he gets the most precious treasure, he is so happy that he can't sleep all night, and always wants to find a stone friend to "taste the stone" to celebrate. He experienced the process from "harvest, joy and perfection" to "harvest again, joy and perfection", accumulating over time, and gradually formed several sets of relatively complete and exquisite series of stone groups.
Over the past 23 years, no matter how far away the distance between foraging and buying stones and how difficult the conditions are, Liu Decheng often stays in the strange stone market and the stone farmer's home in his spare time, and he also pays great attention to learning, while reading magazines such as "Chinese Stone Appreciation", "Treasure", "Chinese Graphic Stone", "Stone Appreciation", "Stone Appreciation", "Stone Friends" and other magazines, while learning from them, stone appreciation, and stone collection knowledge. In terms of the stone species, stone shape, stone quality, size, quality and other elements of the strange stone, Liu Decheng strictly controls the customs and adheres to the principle of Ning Que rather than indiscriminate, which highlights the connotation of the combination collection of the strange stone series.
Because of the achievements in the collection of strange stones, in January 2012, the Qinghai Ornamental Stone Association awarded Liu Decheng the title of "Qinghai Famous Stone Collector", and his stone collection was also rated as "Family Fine Stone Collection".

In the process of collecting strange stones, Liu Decheng also gradually liked meteorite collection. According to him, meteorites are divided into two categories: meteorite sighting and meteorite discovery, and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is a meteorite-rich area on the mainland, and meteorites have occupied an important position in the cultural life of the people of all ethnic groups on the plateau since ancient times. People here call meteorites "celestial iron" and believe they carry powerful cosmic energy.
Liu Decheng was impressed by the unique shape and magical pattern of the meteorite, and in the face of these small and exquisite, portable alien objects, he believed that there must be huge research value, aesthetic value and collection value.
Liu Decheng said: "Looking for meteorites is a manual work, but the excitement of accidentally finding meteorites makes people have no remorse for finding meteorites. In recent years, his footprints have almost traveled all over Menyuan and Qilian in Qinghai, and Jingtai and Tianzhu in Gansu. He and the "star friends" picked up meteorites, collected meteorites, enjoyed the beautiful scenery together, and exchanged collection insights together. Whether on the river beach, the riverbed, or in the farmhouse or the market, he grinded his mouth, hollowed out his wallet, and enjoyed buying meteorites. As long as the meteorite is of good quality, good meaning, and good ornamentation, he will try his best to collect it. Every time he found a good meteorite, he played with it while watching it, and he loved it. When I got home, I poured detergent and brushed the meteorite clean, as if a loving father was bathing his young son, and the concentration was touching.
"What is in the court, the white clouds hug the stone". Liu Decheng on the way to find meteorites, or watch the morning sun, or with the sunset, looking for stones to return, appreciate its unique molten shell, air prints, patterns, indulge in the artistic conception brought by meteorites, imagine the trajectory of a meteorite, think about life encounters, learn knowledge from it, but also cultivate interest, purify the body and mind.
Up to now, Liu Decheng has collected more than 100 meteorites, including "Eding" meteorites, "black and bright" meteorites, "olive" meteorites, "iron plate" meteorites, etc., forming a certain scale, and the quality is very good, and has a certain influence in the Qinghai meteorite collection community. He used the knowledge he learned and his rich life experience to give new meanings and connotations to the meteorites. His meteorite combination works include "Eight Cave Immortals", "Lion Rolling Hydrangeas", "Four Treasures of the Study Room", "Fish Leaping Dragon Gate", "Tibetan Mastiff Wangcai", "Rice Fu Worship Stone", etc., the stone is as its name, the image is realistic, Liu Decheng also tailored and customized a beautiful base for them. Stone friends gathered together to admire meteorites, talk about feelings, and understand the stone path.

Liu Decheng has loved stones for 23 years, as the vice president of the Qinghai Ornamental Stone Association, he has never forgotten to enhance the influence and awareness of the Yellow River stone, meteorite and Huangshui River picture stone in Qinghai, constantly sharing stone fun, and willing to be a messenger to spread the culture of strange stones.
