Located on the banks of the Lossie River in Elgin City, the capital of the famous whisky region of Speyside, Glenmore Winery has been producing high-quality wheat whiskies with the characteristics of the Speyside region since 1897 and has a history of more than 100 years. Today, Glenmore has become one of the top five Scottish single-wheat whiskies in the UK, and its distillery is well known to industry experts for producing whiskies with The Spyside. The strong impression of high quality has also led to an increase in demand in export markets year by year.
The water used to produce whisky in Granmore comes from the nearby Losi River. In addition, since 1978, Glenmore has no longer bred its own malt, but instead procures peat-free flavored malt from local barley from the factory. In recent years, distilleries have also procured peat-flavored malt for small batch production.
Now the distillery has a total of 2 Wash Still and 2 Spirit Still, pear-shaped, shorter than the average distiller, with a wide base and a thick neck.
The main barrels used for aging whiskies are the American Bourbon Cask, which are carefully selected by the distillery, and the whiskies obtained after barrel aging are rounded and smooth, with rich spice characteristics. In addition, the distillery also sources a variety of barrels to diversify whisky styles, such as Port Pipe, Sherry Butt and Chardonnay Barrel.
