As of 24:00 on January 18, 2022, the city has reported a total of 4197 cases of positive COVID-19 infection, of which 2032 cases of confirmed cases (1506 cases imported from abroad and 526 cases from home), and 2165 cases of asymptomatic infection (1953 cases imported from abroad and 212 cases from home).

Three new cases of asymptomatic infected persons imported from abroad were added

Imported asymptomatic infected person 1: male, 47 years old, Chinese nationality. On January 14, he took flight CZ328 from the United States and arrived in Guangzhou on January 16.

Imported asymptomatic infected person 2: female, 24 years old, Chinese nationality. On January 5, he took flight CZ344 from Australia and flew to Guangzhou on the same day.

Imported asymptomatic infected person 3: male, 51 years old, Chinese nationality. He traveled from Sudan to Oman on 1 January and arrived in Guangzhou on Flight WY851 from Oman on 14 January.

After entering the country, three new cases of asymptomatic infected persons imported from abroad were transferred to the centralized isolation point according to the closed-loop management procedures. During the isolation period, the test was positive for the nucleic acid of the new coronavirus, that is, he was transferred to the Eighth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University for isolation and treatment.
