In the 1980s, a nationwide serial murder occurred in Shang County, Shaanxi Province, mainland China: The killer, Long Zhimin, together with his disabled wife, killed 48 people in his home within three years and buried the body in his own yard. After his arrest, he not only did not repent, but also claimed that he was doing harm to the people! And the killings that no one has noticed in the past three years have been exposed to the public eye in a very dramatic form.
The beginning of the drama
Between 1983 and 1985, a strange incident occurred in ShangXian County, Shaanxi Province, whereby some villagers who had returned from work or bought things in the county seat were missing, and by the time the incident was exposed, as many as 37 people had reported their disappearances to the Public Security Bureau alone, including Du Changying and Jiang Sanhe.
Du Changying was a native of Yemiao Village, Liuwan Township, and was 40 years old at the time. On May 16, 1985, Du Changying got up early in the morning to go to the city with his brother Du Changnian to catch up with the market to buy pig feed, and after buying it, Du Changying asked his brother to go back first, and he also wanted to see if there was some odd work in the city, earn two money and then go back.
Odd jobs were very common in ShangXian at that time, when a large number of rural laborers were idle, and everyone went to the city to find job opportunities in order to make a living. All they can do is hard work, as short as one or two days or half a month, in short, it will not be particularly long. At that time, there were no telephones, and people who found jobs could not notify their families in time, and could only go home after finishing their work. Therefore, even if there is no news for ten days and half a month, everyone thinks that it is work and will not think much about it.
But Unlike other odd jobs, Du Changying still has more than a dozen pigs to raise at home, and he will return after a day or two at most. But this time he hadn't heard from him for more than half a month. The Du family began to anxiously look for someone in the city.
On the evening of May 27, 1985, his brother Du Changnian once again unsuccessfully searched for someone in the city, and when he returned home, he passed by the county paper mill, so he went to find his cousin Hou Yiting, who was a cashier in the factory, and there were many people who worked in the city, and he should be able to help, so he told him that Du Changying had not returned home for more than ten days. Hou Yiting was stunned for half a moment, his face instantly became severe, and he hurriedly said, "Broken, broken!" ”
Du asked anxiously for many years what had happened? Hou Yiting said: Two days ago, a thin man took a wheat straw strip to receive money, the amount was eight cents and a half, but the name on the strip was cousin Du Changying. Hou Yiting felt strange and asked the man what was wrong, and the man said that Du Changying owed him money and had been relying on it to not pay it back, and that day he just happened to see Du Changying on the street, so he blocked him from asking for money, and Du Changying gave him this article.
But Du Changying's family was quite generous, not like a person who owed a few yuan and did not pay it back, Hou Yiting felt that things were strange and did not give him the money, and the person could not get the money and left sadly. And the person who came to collect the money was None other than Long Zhimin. Du Changnian also felt that things were not simple, so he went to the police station to report the case, and Long Zhimin followed the set of statements that Du Changying owed him money, and also clamored for Du Changnian to quickly repay the money for his brother.
Just when they were making a fuss, another group of people who came to the police station to report the crime happened to see Long Zhimin and rushed forward to say don't let him run, they were also looking for Long Zhimin. This gang came to find Jiang Sanhe, before they went to Xi'an to work together, when they were preparing to go home at Xiguan Station, they happened to meet Long Zhimin who said that there was a job of digging pigsty at home, 5 yuan a day. After Jiang Sanhe went alone, there was no more news. His brother Jiang Yinshan learned of his brother's disappearance and hurried home from the Shengli Oilfield, where he was still unaccounted for; during this period, he wrote to the relevant departments several times to reflect the situation, but never got a response.
Both cases of disappearance were related to Long Zhimin, and the police also felt that things were not good and decided to take him in for trial. In the face of interrogation, Long Zhimin still did not change his face and said without changing his heart: "Du Changying owes me 20 yuan, and I know where he went after getting the note." Jiang Sanhe was indeed called by me to work. But it didn't take much time to set up a pigsty, and it was done quickly. I left him at my house for one night, and the next morning he left, and I don't know where he went again."
The police looked at the short and stupid man in front of him, who looked like a peasant, and did not look like a person who did bad things, but for the sake of safety, he was locked up first, and tomorrow he would go to Long Zhimin's house to investigate the situation. What they don't know is that the reality is much worse than they think.
Horrific acts
Early the next morning the police went to Long Zhimin's house, whose windows were all blocked with adobe and dim as a cellar. The house was full of potholes, a few of which seemed to have been shoveled, and the room was dirty and messy, with some dark purple spots on the wooden ladder in the attic. There is really a pigsty in the yard, but there are no pigs, which is useless for a long time.
Long Zhimin's wife, Yan Shuxia, was a disabled person, paralyzed in the lower limbs, and had meningitis when she was a child, always awake and demented. In the face of the police's questioning, she said "there is nothing in the house" for a while, and then said that "once there were several people in the house, and the next day the people were gone." After that, he said without a preface, "Wash your clothes, the water is red." ”
The police felt very suspicious, and in addition to the fact that they could always smell a foul smell during the search, the experienced criminal police captain immediately identified the smell of decomposing corpses, and quickly found two male bodies that had been stripped naked. After identification, the two bodies were only Du Changying, and the other was not Jiang Sanhe, but a sixteen or seventeen-year-old boy. Then, behind the firewood pile on the side, he found a stuffed fertilizer bag, and opened it to see that inside was a female corpse.
The discovery of the three corpses immediately caused a sensation, and the whole village went to watch. The police immediately blocked the scene, in order to prevent Long Zhimin from having other accomplices escape, the superior also transferred a large number of armed police fighters to control the various intersections in the village, and Long Zhimin in the detention center also put on handcuffs, but still did not say a word in the face of interrogation.
In the process of watching the liveliness, a villager said: Longzhimin's family used to have a radish cellar, and now it has long been filled in and planted with cabbage. This attracted the attention of the police, and everyone at the scene screamed at the moment when the cellar was excavated and the camouflage covering the upper floor was lifted! In the cellar, like stacks of firewood, there were 9 corpses neatly arranged, and it seemed that there were still underneath.
The police immediately reported to the provincial public security department that this was an extremely important case encountered since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and even the provincial department did not dare to slacken off, and even the military sub-district sent a company to control the scene. Under the continuous excavation of the crowd, the number of corpses is also increasing, the cellar has been cleared inside and out, a total of 33 corpses were found, the scene is shocking.
However, that's not all. After a short rest, the police found a large pit in the pigsty, which contained 8 neatly stacked corpses; next to the large pit, there was a small pit in which 4 bodies lay.
So far, the police have found a total of 48 corpses from Long Zhimin's home, and from Long Zhimin's interrogation, the suspicion that other people were involved in the crime was also excluded, and all of them were killed by Long Zhimin and his wife. This earth-shattering news quickly spread among the people, and people were afraid and wondered at the same time, how did Long Zhimin quietly kill so many people, and why did he kill them?
The life of a demon
Long Zhimin lost his mother when he was 6 years old, and lacked his mother's care and education since he was a child, coupled with the ideology of preferring sons to daughters and passing on the generations, his father was very pampered and indulgent to him. When he was a child, Long Zhimin also loved to learn, but because the environment was not good, he always learned badly, and he gave up on himself later. He was the oldest of all his classmates, but the shortest, and as an adult, he was less than 150 cm tall, and was often ridiculed.
During the Cultural Revolution, he set up a Red Guard organization, often raiding homes and criticizing cadres, which gradually released the inferiority in his body. After that, although the organization was disintegrated, the seeds of evil in his heart had already taken root. Not only did he secretly give himself processing points, but even lazy, even the rice sent by the production team was too lazy to take it, and finally the team sent someone to send it to the door.
He once tricked a woman with dementia into confinement at home and raped her until the village militia found out that the woman was saved. It is reasonable to say that such a heinous crime should be severely punished, but in that era when the legal system collapsed, he not only did not get punished, but he was also regarded by the villagers as holding back for too long, so he was introduced to Yan Shuxia, who had meningitis, to marry.
After the implementation of the household contract responsibility system, Long Zhimin's days of relying on mixed work to eat a large pot of rice are gone, and he began to embark on the road of crime and wealth. Since March 1983, Long Zhimin has often wandered around the Shangxian Bus Station and other places, and then tricked some out-of-town workers or demented and dumb disabled people into coming to his home in the name of hiring workers and staying in free hotels. After the people fell asleep, the couple began to kill the plan, the wife was responsible for the lighting, and Long Zhimin slammed the other person's head with a hammer, and then mended the knife until the man lost his breath.
After killing people, the couple will take off the victim's clothes, search for belongings, and even cut off the long hair of the deceased and hide it under the bed. Wait until late at night when people are quiet, and then dig a pit in the courtyard to bury people. This has been the case for three years, killing 48 people in the pit, and the looted things and even the financial belts add up to only 573 yuan.
When the police asked if there were any other stolen money, Long Zhimin arrogantly said that he was not only killing people for money, but more for the country. He also pursued the principle of "three no killings" when he killed people: scientific and technological personnel did not kill; state cadres did not kill; and workers and workers did not kill. He only kills wasted people, and those ignorant and disabled people are social pests in his eyes, and they are not worthy of eating the white rice of the state at all, and they deserve to die.
It is obvious that he is talking nonsense, perhaps at the beginning Long Zhimin's motive for killing is to rob money, but after killing people again and again, the pleasure of ignorance is satisfied, and eventually evolves into a killing addiction. An expert once asked him, aren't you afraid to live with corpses? Long Zhimin replied: At first, I was afraid, the sound of the blood dripping on the floor of the corpse could scare him, but thinking about it, why was I afraid of him when I killed everyone? There are no ghosts in this world, so you don't have to scare yourself. Killing people is the same as killing chickens and slaughtering cows, or even simpler.
In this way, his spirit has long been occupied by killing, and he cannot see a trace of human sanity. In the end, Long Zhimin and his wife were sentenced to capital punishment and executed on September 27, 1985, which can be regarded as a real harm to the people.
