The people wanted to protect these warriors, and the best way to protect them was to marry and marry. As a result, there were many cases in the local area where Red Army soldiers were recruited as sons-in-law or married Red Army soldiers.

In addition to treating the captives, Ma Bufang was also unusually cruel to the people.
In 1938, the position of chairman of Qinghai Province fell into the hands of Ma Bufang. As soon as he took office, he promulgated the "Six Work Centers", one of which was to require road construction.
After that, he spent half a year building a road that was 500 miles long (500 meters a mile).
Gradually, he was no longer satisfied with dominating the throne in Qinghai, he wanted to become the real king of the northwest. In order to facilitate the war, he once again proposed to build the road.
Building roads would have been nothing, but it could also drive the development of the local economy. But such a crazy way of building roads like Ma Bufang is really unheard of.
The workers worked day and night, and even for days and nights they could not eat or drink water. More than 17,000 people died of thirst, starved to death and died.
According to statistics, Ma Bufang has built a total of 10,900 miles of highways (500 meters per mile). It is conceivable how many people will have to fall on each mile of the road before it can be built.
These tragic deaths once became a nightmare for the locals.
Absurdity
Everyone says that he is absurd, so how absurd is Ma Bufang?

In fact, as he himself said, his wives and daughters, as well as his siblings and nieces of the same clan, could not escape his clutches.
In 1949, our army defeated Ma Bufang's troops in Lanzhou. Seeing that the situation was not good, Ma Bufang quickly fled to Hong Kong with more than 200 people, including his family and cronies.

Soon, Ma Bufang took care of everything and the group flew to Saudi Arabia. But the local climate in Saudi Arabia is hot, and Ma Bufang and his party did not stay long.
After that, they moved to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, where they settled.
