The annual Beijing Winter Olympics kick off on February 4, and Beijing is stepping up its deployment of traffic measures to maintain traffic order during the Winter Olympics. On January 19, the Beijing Municipal Government decided to adopt temporary traffic management measures from January 21 to March 16, 2022.

From January 21 to March 16, motor vehicles on the road are required to comply with the regulations on the passage of olympic lanes, and the relevant provisions are implemented in accordance with the Notice on Matters Related to the Establishment of Olympic Lanes in Beijing during the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games; on January 29 and January 30, the traffic management measures for the peak hour area of weekdays were implemented, and the tail numbers (including temporary number plates) of the restricted motor vehicle license plates on January 29 (Saturday) were 2 and 7, and the tail numbers of the restricted motor vehicle license plates on January 30 (Sunday) were 2 and 7 (including temporary number plates) are 3 and 8.

From January 21 to March 16, when the air pollution process is predicted and strengthened measures need to be taken, in addition to the vehicles and public transportation and new energy vehicles that guarantee the normal operation of the city, the winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, other motor vehicles are single-day and double-numbered according to the tail number of the license plate, and 80% of the official vehicles used by the party and government organs, enterprises and institutions at all levels in the city are suspended; except for those involving events, people's livelihood protection, and emergency rescue, medium and heavy fuel (gas) trucks are not allowed to drive on the road.
