On January 17, the "2020 Dubai World Expo Chinese Culture Center Art and Creativity Theme Activity - 'Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Into Dubai World Expo' Theme Activity" was launched, which showcased some of the art works of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts that will be exhibited at the Dubai World Expo.
Expo 2020 Dubai, postponed due to the pandemic, opened on 1 October 2021. The theme event "Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Into Dubai World Expo" is scheduled to open on January 25 at the Chinese Culture Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, telling the story of Chinese art and design on the international stage by holding a photo exhibition of "Yiqi Anti-epidemic" works, an exhibition of "Ice Pier" design achievements, an exhibition of excellent teaching achievements and academic seminars.
Huang Jiancheng, Artistic Director of the Chinese Culture Center at the Dubai World Expo, introduced that the theme activity of "Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Entering the Dubai World Expo" will take art education as the main line, cultural exchange as the orientation, and will also hold academic seminars in a wired manner, and cutting-edge scholars of art and design will discuss the deep-seated changes in art and design caused by the new crown pneumonia epidemic and how to deal with them.
As the earliest university in China to explore the modern design education model of "industry,300," the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts has a deep relationship with the World Expo. Xie Changjing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, said that taking the opportunity of entering the Dubai World Expo, the school will present the works created in recent years that can hit the heart and have a degree of display at the World Expo Chinese Culture Center, believing that it will help the world understand the present and future of Chinese art and design education.
At the scene, the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts also exhibited its anti-epidemic and Winter Olympic works, such as "China Refueling", "China Anti-epidemic Atlas" and the original MV "Wish You Well", as well as the MV "Hand in Hand towards a Better Future" that Guangmei people recently sent blessings to the Beijing Winter Olympics.
