More than 59,000 young volunteers took up their posts to serve the Spring Festival

Beijing, 17 Jan (Xinhua) -- This year marks the ninth year of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League organizing and implementing the "Warm Winter Action" of Chinese youth volunteers serving the Spring Festival. On the first day of the Spring Festival, league organizations at all levels across the country recruited more than 59,000 young volunteers to serve on the job, focusing on the actual needs of the new crown pneumonia epidemic prevention and control publicity reminders, consultation guidelines, ticketing assistance and other practical needs to provide volunteer services for Spring Festival passengers.

This year's Spring Festival volunteer service has three characteristics: first, the combination of serving the Spring Festival and serving the Winter Olympics requires young volunteers to strengthen the sense of service that moves according to needs and enhance the service ability according to local conditions; second, the combination of accurate service and safety and epidemic prevention, which needs to streamline posts and optimize services according to changes in the epidemic situation and epidemic prevention requirements; third, the combination of serving society and service growth, and it is necessary to feel the development and changes of the country and enhance the sense of national pride and honor in the practice of participating in services.

League organizations at all levels accurately implement the Spring Festival volunteer service in accordance with the principle of "pre-recruiting reserves, moving according to needs, adapting measures to local conditions and large stations, streamlining posts, optimizing services, strengthening training, and safety first". According to incomplete statistics, league organizations at all levels pre-recruited more than 85,000 young volunteers, paired with more than 6,000 transportation units such as railways, highways, and civil aviation to carry out services, and set up more than 8,800 service posts according to demand. Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Sichuan and other provincial youth league committees have strengthened organizational management by formulating guidelines and tips for implementing spring festival volunteer service work, and done a good job in the deployment and organization of the "Warm Winter Action", contributing to the creation of a good Spring Festival atmosphere of safe travel and warm travel.

On the morning of the first day of the Spring Festival, Zhang Zhaohui, secretary of the Party Committee of the Youth Volunteer Action Guidance Center of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, learned more about the volunteer service situation of the Spring Festival at Beijing West Railway Station, visited and comforted the railway young volunteers serving on the job, and learned more about safety protection, service content, post scheduling, etc.

Railway stations, passenger terminals, airports and other places across the country have also successively carried out Spring Festival volunteer services. The Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee mobilized 16,000 volunteers to carry out the "Warm Winter Action" for the Spring Festival at 4 railway stations such as Guangzhou Railway Station, 12 passenger stations such as Haizhu Passenger Transport Station, and 20 points such as Baiyun Airport and Guangzhou Metro Line Stations. Chongqing organized more than 900 young volunteers to provide passengers with services such as station entry, ticket collection, transfer, comprehensive consultation and other services in 23 positions in 108 key places such as railway stations, airports, bus stations, bus hub stations, subway stations, wharves and highway service areas; the main responsible comrades of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee of the Youth League visited young employees and volunteers in the front-line posts of the airport Spring Festival at Meilan Airport on the morning of January 16, and instructed everyone to strictly follow the requirements of epidemic prevention and control in their work and do a good job of self-protection. With a high-spirited attitude, it contributes to the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port. At Zibo Railway Station in Shandong Province, young volunteers focused on seven aspects: epidemic prevention and control, order maintenance, guidance and consultation, convenience for the people, help for key passengers, traffic safety persuasion, and emergency rescue, to provide volunteer services for Spring Festival passengers, and effectively provide convenience and warmth for passengers returning home.
