Han Zhao's two attacks on the Western Jin Dynasty were repulsed, but in the fifth year of Yongjia (311), Liu Yuan's son Liu Cong once again led an army to attack the Jin, resulting in annihilating the main force of the Western Jin Dynasty, attacking Luoyang, the capital of the Western Jin Dynasty at that time, capturing Emperor Huai of Jin, and killing him.
In fact, by this time, the Western Jin Dynasty was already vulnerable. However, after the death of Emperor Huai of Jin, Sima Yi ascended the throne as emperor in Chang'an. However, at that time, the Western Jin Dynasty royal family and clans had moved from luoyang to Jiangnan, and the Western Jin Dynasty had long since ceased to exist in name only.
The strength of the jin emperor's hands was simply not enough to cope, and the people who controlled the army in their hands did not obey him at all. Therefore, in August of the fourth year of Jianxing (316), Liu Yao of Han Zhao led an army to besiege Chang'an, and Emperor Huan of Jin was cornered and surrendered. By this time, the Western Jin Dynasty was completely destroyed.
