Princess Gulun: Married at the age of 11, lived for 75 years after four dynasties, and was posthumously honored by Kangxi

In 1636, Emperor Taiji proclaimed himself emperor in Shengjing, established the Great Qing Dynasty, and imitated the Ming system, stipulating that from then on the emperor's daughters were called princesses, and the daughter born to the empress was Princess Fenggulun, and the daughter born to the concubines was Princess Feng heshuo. However, the first Princess of Gulun in the Qing Dynasty to be crowned princess was not the daughter of Emperor Taiji, but the eldest daughter of Nurhaci, the eldest sister of Emperor Taiji: Princess Gulun Dignified, that is, the famous DongguoGege.

How did the name Dongguo Gege come about?

In the sixth year of the Ming Dynasty (1578), the Yuan Concubine Tong Jia gave birth to Nurhaci's first child, a girl, and this girl was Dongguo Gege. The real name of Dongguo Gege is not recorded in the historical records, but Dong Guoge has been running on the battlefield with his father Nurhaci since he was a child, and even suffered from the enemy's pursuit.

Once, Dongguo Gege and his younger brothers Chu Ying and Dai Shan were besieged by the enemy, and as a last resort, Nurhaci hid Dongguo Gege's three sons and daughters under the cabinet, so as to escape the disaster. However, it was this experience in the early years that enabled Dongguo Gege to cultivate a strong physique and become a female haojie of the famous Jurchen departments.

It is said that in the year when Dongguo Gege was 11 years old, in order to win over the Jianzhou female zhen Dong Ebu (東鄂部), Nurhaci took the initiative to marry the eldest daughter to The Minister of Dong'eBu, He Heli, who was 27 years old at the time and already had a family, when his wife Zhuo Er heard that her husband had married another daughter-in-law and took his place (Note: Nurhaci gave the eldest daughter He and Li Concubine Fujin), he was very angry, so he led his subordinates to kill her husband. In the end, under the mediation of Nurhaci, the matter was put to rest, and Dongguo Gege was given the title of "Dongguo Gege" because he was married to He Heli of dong'e.

Her husband became the founding father of the Qing Dynasty

After Dongguo Gege married He Heli, the Jianzhou Jurchens merged with Dong Ebu, and since then, He Heli has been following Nurhaci in the campaign, and he Heli has performed well against the invasion of the Nine Allied Forces, the destruction of the four Jurchens of Haixi, and the Battle of Salhu of the Ming Army, so He Heli was later named a first-class minister by Nurhaci and became one of the five ministers involved in military decision-making.

After Marrying He Heli, Dongguo Gege gave birth to three sons, namely the second son Duo Jili, the fourth son Gu Tu and the fifth son Dudu, these three later inherited almost all of He HeLi's titles and property, and also made great achievements in the early years of the Qing Dynasty.

In the ninth year of the Mandate of Heaven (1624), Dongguo Gege's husband He Heli died at the age of 64, and Emperor Taiji posthumously honored He Heli as a third-class son. After Shunzhi succeeded to the throne, he posthumously honored He Heli as "meek", and recorded the merits of The Stone: "Recounting the Past, Remembering the Former Xun", and praising He Heli for "being able to encourage loyalty, seal the territory, and always do his best to the Royal Family." In the eighth year of Yongzheng, he was given the title of "Yongqin".

Dongguo Gege was given the title of Princess of Gulun

In the first year of the Chongde Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty, soon after emperor Taiji established the Great Qing Kingdom, he ordered that the eldest sister Dongguo Gege be named the Princess of Gulun, although Dongguo Gege at that time was already an old woman who was nearly sixty years old, but after all, she was the first princess of the Qing Dynasty to obtain the title of Gulun, so this glory was still very rare.

In July of the ninth year of Shunzhi, DongguoGe, who had gone through four dynasties (Mandate of Heaven, Tiancong, Chongde and Shunzhi), died of illness at the age of 75, which was also a high-life person at that time. But what people did not expect was that Kangxi seemed to have great respect for his aunt Dongguo Gege, and posthumously honored her as a dignified princess of Gulun in the fifty-fifth year of Kangxi.
