The two sisters served Shunzhi together, the sister was made empress, and the younger sister: I will be martyred for the emperor

Speaking of this concubine of the Dong E clan, everyone is most familiar with the Shunzhi harem's famous Dong E concubine, as everyone knows, the Shunzhi harem, there is more than one Dong E's concubine, in fact, there are three, namely Empress Xiaoxian Duanjing (Dong Efei), Ning Yufei and Zhenfei, these three are from a large family, they are all descendants of the minister of Dong E. Of course, in terms of distance, the empress dowager and the concubine are closer, and they are cousins of the same great-grandfather.

1. Daughter of a famous person

Speaking of this Dong'e family, we have to mention a figure, he is he Heli, the founding father of the Qing Dynasty. Long before Nurhaci unified and established the state, Nurhaci and He Heli's ancestors had a deep grudge, and the two tribes often attacked each other, until He Heli became the minister of Dong'e, knowing that Nurhaci Xiong was roughly he he heli, intended to improve relations with Jianzhou, so he threw out an olive branch.

It just so happened that at that time, the Hada tribe's daughter Hadanara clan was married to Nurhaci, passing through the Dong'ebu where He Heli was located, so Dong Ebu personally led soldiers to escort the Hadanara clan to Jianzhou, Nurhaci has always admired He Heli very much, knowing that He Heli is a quite talented young general, so he married the eldest daughter Dongguo, who was only 11 years old, to He Heli, who was 26 years old, and thus He Heli submitted to Nurhaci.

Since then, He Heli has been following Nurhaci in his conquests, participating in dozens of battles of large and small sizes in Nurhaci's unified state, making outstanding military achievements, becoming the founding hero of the Later Jin Dynasty, ranking among the five ministers. Concubine Ning of the Shunzhi harem was he Heli's great-granddaughter.

In addition, He Heli had a cousin named Lu Kesu, who was also the minister of Dong'e's department, He Heli later entered the Zhenghong Banner, and Lu Kesu entered the Zhengbai Banner, and we all know that in the Imperial Taiji period after Nurhaci, the flag owner of the two white flags was the Dolgun brothers, that is to say, the Lu Kesu clan was a subordinate of the Dolgun brothers.

It is said that this Lu Kesu had two grandsons, one named Badu and the other named Eshuo, and these two were cousins, Batu was the father of Concubine Zhen, and Eshuo was the father of Concubine Dong.

2. Serve a husband and wife

In August of the thirteenth year of Shunzhi, Dong Eshi, the daughter of Eshuo, was given the title of Concubine Xian and became the Imperial Concubine of the Qing Dynasty. Although Dong E's origin is somewhat secret, she is indeed very favored by Shunzhi, only one month after entering the palace was promoted to imperial concubine, which is the first time after the founding of the Qing Dynasty that the rank of imperial concubine appeared, in the harem, the imperial concubine is second only to the existence of the empress, like a vice queen, Dong E's family can enter the palace soon after obtaining this position, which shows Shunzhi's favor for her.

A woman is favored and ascends to heaven.

Princess Dong's favor did bring benefits to the family, and her father, Eun Seol, was soon promoted to minister of the interior and became a member of the First Class, even before the highly accomplished Sony. In addition, Dong Efei's cousin Xiao Dong'eshi, the Zhen Concubine, was also elected into the harem and became a concubine of the Shunzhi harem.

If a person is too noble, he will attract the envy of others, and the reality is like this. In particular, Concubine Dong E, received thousands of pampered treatment, Shunzhi even stopped using the empress's middle palace note sheet for her, that is, the greeting watch given to the empress during the pilgrimage, which is the rhythm of abolishing it again!

After the abolition of the first time, it has already caused the dissatisfaction of the Manchu Dynasty Wenwu, and if it is abolished again, it will not blow up the sky. Under the strong opposition of Xiaozhuang and Dong Efei herself, Shunzhi did not depose the empress again. But even so, the fourth son of the emperor born to Concubine Dong was still called the "first son" by Shunzhi. In contrast, Dong Efei's cousin Zhenfei was much more snubbed, loving Wu and Wu, and many times only stayed on the surface.

3. Burial after death

I have to say that Princess Dong Efei is a very blessed woman, she has been loved by Shunzhi incomparable, but there is a saying that the more cherished things are, the easier it is to lose. Sure enough, the fourth son of the emperor born to Concubine Dong Efei only lived for a hundred days before dying, and Princess Dong Efei, who had lost her beloved son, was physically and mentally exhausted, and had to shoulder the responsibilities of the imperial concubine, and it was not long before she fell ill.

In August of the seventeenth year of Shunzhi, Concubine Dong E, who had been favored by Shunzhi for four years, died of illness in the Chengqian Palace, and the Shunzhi Emperor was discouraged and even had the idea of becoming a monk. Although the trip could not be made under the obstruction of the royal family, less than half a year later, the heavenly son who was in his prime died in the Yangxin Hall at the age of 24.

After the death of the Shunzhi Emperor, the Qing imperial family sent resentment to the Dong E family, believing that it was the Dong E clan that made the Shunzhi Emperor who was deeply affectionate die young, and the Dong E clan suffered a major crisis. However, what people did not expect was that at this time, Zhenfei bravely stood up and proposed to be martyred for the Shunzhi Emperor, as long as this way, it could calm the resentment of the Aixin Jueluo family against dong E, so Zhenfei bravely took this step, and on the day of the death of the Shunzhi Emperor, she committed suicide.

After Princess Zhenfei's sister Concubine Dong'e died of illness, Shunzhi posthumously honored her as Empress Dowager Duanjing, making up for her regret of not being an empress during her lifetime, and for Princess Zhenfei, her martyrdom was highly praised by the imperial family, and the imperial court posthumously honored her as a concubine and buried her under the Huanghua Mountain near Zunhua Changrui Mountain. Empress Dowager Zhen's sister Empress Xiaoxian Duanjing was buried with Shunzhi in the second year of the Kangxi Dynasty at the Xiaoling Underground Palace.

In the fifty-seventh year of the Kangxi Dynasty, the Shunzhi Xiaodong mausoleum was completed, and in this year, the zhen concubines who had been deceased for nearly sixty years were buried together with the mourning concubines and concubines to the Xiaodongling tombs, and the story of these two sisters came to an end.

Zichen said:

Sometimes, we only see the love story of the Shunzhi Emperor and Dong Efei's mountain alliance and sea oath, but ignore the great contribution of The Princess Zhen to the family, for the sake of the family, a woman of only 20 years old, take her own life, this dedication can highlight the greatness of human nature.

For all sentient beings, they are all equal, so we can't just focus on the appearance of things, and ignore the dedication of some obscure people, just like Dong Efei and Zhenfei, people often remember Dong Efei who is a collection of thousands of favors, and ignore the Zhenfei who has made great sacrifices for the family.
