Childhood experiences affect a lifetime
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Feng Yuxiang ended his military career under the name of the Nationalist government under the name of going abroad to investigate, because of his disagreement with Chiang Kai-shek on the political side, coupled with his close contacts with the CCP and democrats, which aroused the dissatisfaction of some people in the Kuomintang.
Feng Yuxiang, the commander-in-chief of the Northwest Army, was already abroad when he received the notice of "dismissal", and coupled with the revocation of his passport, even if he was anxious in his heart, there was nothing he could do.
Because of his father, Feng Hongzhi also had to go to the United States. Even so, in the records left by Feng Hongzhi, an experience that took place in Nanjing affected his life.
Although his father already held an important position in the Kuomintang, he still adhered to a simple style in his daily life. In order to cultivate the children's spirit of thrift and thrift, hard-working and hard-working, the staple food on the Feng family's dinner table is either bud valley noodles or nest heads.
During a meal, Feng Yuxiang asked Feng Hongzhi: "Do you think Wo Wo Tou is delicious?" Feng Hongzhi thought for a moment and replied, "The nest is delicious because it is eaten with my father, and it is not good to eat together." ”
Even if there are frequent wars, white noodles can be affordable for the average wealthy family, not to mention the Feng family.
Hearing his son say this, although Feng Yuxiang sighed because of his son's admiration for himself, he still said: "You think that the nest is not delicious, but now there are many people who can't even eat!" When you grow up, you must become a capable Chinese. It was this sentence that influenced Feng Hongzhi and changed his life.
Therefore, at the age of 12, Feng Hongzhi embarked on a study abroad career in the Soviet Union, and later transferred to the Technical University of Berlin in Germany because of his excellent grades and interest in machinery.
Although Feng Yuxiang did not know a single character, he was well aware of the importance of knowledge, and seeing that his son was so self-motivated, even if he could not inherit his mantle, he never hindered it.
Resolutely do not admit foreign nationality
In 1946, Feng Yuxiang came to the United States and visited Feng Hongzhi, who was studying abroad. After meeting, Feng Yuxiang repeatedly told his son: "We must learn technology well and serve the motherland."
Whoever wanted an accident to happen, Feng Yuxiang, who had planned to return to China to attend the new CPPCC meeting, was unfortunately killed by a ship fire. This meeting also became the last meeting between Feng Hongzhi and his father.
After learning of his father's death, the more deeply his father's words were imprinted in Feng Hongzhi's heart, and when he was sad, his mind would always recall his father's expectations of him again. In order not to live up to his father's nurturing grace for many years, Feng Hongzhi devoted himself to learning and vowed to break through to fame and contribute to the motherland.
During the study abroad period, because of Feng Hongzhi's talent and hard work, it attracted the attention of American tutors. As an American, Feng Hongzhi's mentor naturally did not want to see his proud disciple return to China after completing his studies, and repeatedly persuaded him to become a U.S. citizen like other international students and enjoy preferential treatment.
However, even though the days of returning to China are far away, Feng Hongzhi still always adheres to his own heart and refuses to join foreign nationality, he once said: "I can't forget that I am a Chinese." Through unremitting efforts, Feng Hongzhi not only became a world-famous nuclear physicist, but also founded his own company.
Feng Hongzhi always remembered his identity as a "Chinese", and he did not waver in the face of temptation, it was with this rock-solid mind and perseverance that he could never give up in the face of boring experiments, and finally achieved excellent results in nuclear physics.
We will do our best for the reunification of the motherland
Feng Yuxiang once made a will, in which he wrote: "Dare to speak, dare to do, suffer for the people, and die for the people." As a son, Feng Hongzhi is also familiar with his father's past, and like his father Feng Yuxiang, he has made a vow of "lifelong dedication to the cause of the nation-state".
In 1982, at the age of 65, Feng Hongzhi was overwhelmed by years of hard work and stepped down as chairman of the company. After retirement, he did not give up everything and raise his life, but set himself two tasks: the first was to contribute to the reunification of the motherland; the second was to actively help China introduce advanced science and technology.
Because his father Feng Yuxiang and Chiang Kai-shek had married as brothers with different surnames, Feng Hongzhi and Chiang Ching-kuo, as sons, met each other when they were studying abroad. After Feng Hongzhi left office, he always wanted to do something for the cause of the reunification of the motherland, and then he thought of this childhood friend. At this time, Chiang Ching-kuo was already the president of Taiwan's National Government.
Chiang Ching-kuo joined the Communist Youth League of China in 1925 and issued a statement after the April 15 counter-revolutionary coup accusing his father Chiang Kai-shek of acting as a traitorous revolutionary. After being elected president of Taiwan's National Government, Chiang Ching-kuo has also always been committed to cross-strait peace, which has improved Taiwan's attitude toward internal affairs.
In October 1982, when Feng Hongzhi went to Taishan to participate in the 100th anniversary of the birth of his father Feng Yuxiang, he met with Comrade Deng Xiaoping. When Comrade Deng Xiaoping asked Feng Hongzhi about his situation, Feng Hongzhi said sincerely: "I am now working in the United States, and I will retire next year, and I very much want to return to China to settle down." ”
After thorough talks with Comrade Deng Xiaoping, Feng Hongzhi's work not only introduced some advanced bridging techniques to the motherland, but also wrote his first letter to Chiang Ching-kuo in Taiwan after paying homage to his father, hoping that Chiang Ching-kuo would support the motherland in accomplishing the great cause of reunification.
In life, Feng Hongzhi is also very simple like his father, even if he is worth hundreds of millions, he never squanders, and always wears a Zhongshan suit or a Chinese cotton jacket in public, living alone in an apartment. Looking back on his life, Feng Hongzhi has always used his own methods to promote the development of the motherland.
