Anqing Welling Auto Parts Co., Ltd. is indirectly wholly owned by Guangdong Welling Auto Parts Co., Ltd., while the latter is jointly held by Midea Group and Foshan Midea Air Conditioning Industry Investment Co., Ltd. with a proportion of 95% and 5% respectively.
That is to say, the company is a new company established by the United States, and this move further proves that the United States has only made auto parts and will not directly build cars.
As early as 2003, the company was involved in car manufacturing for the first time, but at that time it entered the field of commercial vehicles, from 2004 to the beginning of 2006, Midea Group has acquired Yunnan Bus Factory, Yunnan Aerospace Shenzhou Automobile Co., Ltd. and Hunan Sanxiang Bus Group Co., Ltd. three enterprises.
However, due to poor management, in 2008, Midea Group's automobile business fell into a crisis of suspension of production, and Huang Xiaoming, then vice president of Midea Group, announced the suspension of Midea's car-making projects, and then the Kunming and Changsha production bases were sold to BYD and Changsha Municipal Governments respectively.

In May 2021, Midea officially announced its electromechanical strategic layout, released a variety of its welling auto parts products, and announced that three major product lines were officially put into production, including electric compressors, shared platform electronic water pumps, drive motors, electronic oil pumps, and EPS (electric power steering system) motors, covering three major product lines of drive motors, thermal management and auxiliary / automatic driving.
