Therefore, we brought the FAW-Volkswagen ID.6 CROZZ into the test site of China Automobile Research Institute and conducted the driving quality star certification test, with a total of 5 test dimensions and 13 test sub-projects.
"Five-star driving quality star" is the first professional certification test evaluation system in the field of driving, there are professional engineers and driving alliance experts of authoritative institutions, and there are also professional test sites, such as wind tunnel laboratory, NVH laboratory, chassis laboratory and so on. Can the ID.6 CROZZ withstand the test and successfully take away the five stars?
The five test dimensions we will conduct are temperature and comfort, quiet and low noise, brake safety, full power and handling safety. Let's look at them one by one.
The power of a single motor is still not vain
Let's first take a look at the id.6 CROZZ's most basic power and braking performance performance. In addition to our common 0-100km/h acceleration test, there is also an additional 80-120km/h overtaking acceleration test, which is also to test the vehicle's re-acceleration capability.
In addition, the test standards are not the same as our conventional cognition. In addition to the standard external environment, there will not only be one driver on the vehicle, we will also require the vehicle to carry four people during the test. Yes, this is also to get closer to the daily car scenes and vehicle limits of consumers.
After many effective tests and average values, ID.6 CROZZ in this test, 0-100km/h acceleration time of 10.21 seconds, assessment index is ≤ 11 seconds; 80-120km/h overtaking acceleration time of 6.77 seconds, assessment index of ≤ 8 seconds, so ID.6 CROZZ meets the certification index requirements of the above two acceleration tests. It is also worth mentioning that the acceleration time of 0-50km/h is 4.3 seconds, which can also prove that the acceleration level of ID.6 CROZZ is good.
The reason for this achievement is inseparable from the high-efficiency Hairpin drive motor used by ID.6 CROZZ, which has changed from the traditional round enameled wire structure to the flat copper wire structure, and the shape of the stator winding has also changed, becoming like a hair card, with high slot fullness, low DC copper loss, better heat dissipation and heat conduction.
The round line becomes a flat line, and theoretically, the filled copper can be increased by 20-30% under the premise that the space is unchanged. Moreover, the contact area between the flat line and the flat line is large, the heat dissipation and heat conduction are better, the temperature rise of the flat wire motor can be about 10% lower than the round line, the heat dissipation becomes better, the performance will be improved, and the power density reaches 1.6kW/kg, which improves the efficiency of the motor.
And the TEST ID.6 CROZZ is a single motor power version, and considering the situation that 7 seats carry 4 people, the power performance of this car can meet the basic use scenarios of consumers. And it is worth mentioning that through the two acceleration results, it can also be seen that id.6 CROZZ is not like most of the electric vehicles on the market at present, because of the blind pursuit of faster 100 km acceleration and ignore the feelings of the occupants of the car, in addition to meeting certain power performance, but also as far as possible to bring a more comfortable driving experience to the occupants.
Excellent braking with no thermal decay
After talking about acceleration, let's take a look at the performance of id.6 CROZZ in terms of braking performance. This will be related to whether the vehicle can build the first line of defense for the safety of the occupants of the vehicle in the event of an emergency. The ID.6 CROZZ test we mainly look at its braking distance between cold and hot.
The evaluation index of the braking system is the braking efficiency, the consistency of the braking efficiency and the directional stability during braking. It is necessary not only to have a strong braking force, but also not to have a significant thermal decline.
Like the dynamic performance test, the brake test also requires the condition of loading four people. Finally, after several effective tests and average values, the cold braking distance of ID.6 CROZZ from 100km/h to 0km/h was 39.34m, the assessment index was ≤42m, the hot braking distance was 39.62m, and the assessment index was ≤43m. Both brake results of the ID.6 CROZZ passed the assessment indicators.
ID.6 CROZZ adopts a new generation of electronic brake booster (EBB), maximum energy recovery, when combined with the electronic stabilization program ESC to form a coordinated regenerative braking system work, can achieve up to 0.3g deceleration value of braking energy recovery, in the motor capacity to meet the braking needs, more can achieve 100% braking energy recovery, further increase the cruising range.
Manipulate motion orientation
In addition to the basic acceleration brakes, the car also has the dimension of maneuverability that needs to be considered. Excellent handling can not only bring more driving pleasure to the driver, but also improve the stability of the vehicle, so as to achieve a safer purpose.
Handling safety is divided into three categories, including emergency obstacle avoidance test (elk test), ESC performance test and fish hook test, of which the fish hook test is mainly to examine the anti-rollover performance of the vehicle and check whether the vehicle has the risk of overturning under extreme operating conditions.
Because the ID.6 CROZZ is a three-row 7-seater car, it is necessary to load the standard mass of 2 people in the front row according to the standard, the standard mass of 2 people in the middle of the rear row, and the luggage quality of 4 people in the trunk.
In the elk test, the final score of the maximum passing speed of ID.6 CROZZ was fixed at 73.66km/h, and according to the ≥ of the assessment range, 68km/h, the result passed the test.
The second sub-item OF ESC performance test is the size of the lateral declination angle of the centroid measured by the "sinusoidal stagnation" test to make a judgment on the performance of the CAR ESC. The smaller the centroid lateral declination, the better the ESC performance.
During the test, the vehicle maintains a high gear and taxis, the speed is 80±2km/h, and the steering robot is used to apply a sine wave steering wheel angle to the vehicle, which is simply to hit the left, hit the right and then return to the right. The final ID.6 CROZZ ESC test yielded a centroid lateral declination angle of 9.08°, rated A (good), and passed the test according to the ≤ of the rating range.
The last item is the fish hook test, compared to the elk test, the fish hook test has a very high standard limit, as well as a very high difficulty, which is manifested in the larger steering amplitude and longer steering retention time.
During the test, ID.6 CROZZ entered the test site at a specified speed of 56km/h-80km/h, and quickly made a sharp left turn at a speed of 720°/s through machine assistance, and when the vehicle reached the maximum roll angle within 2s, the steering wheel was quickly turned back at a speed of 720°/s and held for 3s, and finally the steering wheel was turned back to the right in 2s time, that is, the entire fish hook test project was completed. When both inner wheels do not leave the ground 5.08cm, that is, no Tip-up phenomenon occurs, it is considered to have passed the test.
In the actual test, ID.6 CROZZ did not have Tip-up phenomenon, the vehicle static stability coefficient SSF value was 1.35, the rating was A (good), and the FISH HOOK test was passed according to the rating range ID.6 CROZZ.
On the whole, for the ID.6 CROZZ, a model with a length of nearly 4 meters 9 and a wheelbase of more than 2 meters 9, the results of handling safety are still relatively excellent. First of all, the low center of gravity brought by the battery pack is indispensable, and its ESC involves a slight, no large intensity intervention, and does not interfere too much with the driver's operating intentions. In addition, the overall steering system of the ID.6 CROZZ is excellent, the directionality and reaction speed of the front of the car are faster, and the longitudinal support of the suspension is better, so the final passing speed is good.
Quiet and low noise are passed
After talking about the test of driving-related dimensions, let's take a look at the quiet performance of ID.6 CROZZ. Excellent vehicle tranquility can provide a more comfortable riding environment for drivers and occupants in various road conditions, and the user experience will be better. Therefore, when we choose a car, tranquility naturally becomes an important reference factor.
The test of this dimension is mainly divided into four sub-items, namely idle in-car noise, low-speed driving noise, high-speed driving in-vehicle noise and accelerated driving in-vehicle noise. The test will be carried out in the semi-silenced chamber at room temperature and pressure, rough cement road, and smooth asphalt pavement, and the DR value of the right ear of the driver's seat and the MRL value of the left ear of the second row of right seats are measured at the speed corresponding to the test standard, and the average of the two is taken to determine the quietness of the vehicle.
By taking the average, the results of the ID.6 CROZZ test in the idle state were 34.4 dB, 53.3 dB at low speed, 64.6 dB at high speed, and 64.5 dB in accelerated state. The ID.6 CROZZ passed all indicators in terms of quiet and low noise.
One of the main reasons why it can pass all the tests is because there is no engine as a noise source, pure electric models have a congenital advantage in terms of quietness, and the key ID.6 CROZZ has a good control of the motor current sound. In addition, although id.6 CROZZ does not use double laminated glass, the windows have also been thickened, including the use of sound insulation materials are also relatively thick, coupled with the wind resistance coefficient of 0.28 brought by the smaller driving resistance, as well as the use of low rolling resistance tires, so that the entire dynamic driving for noise control will be better.
Heating and refrigeration meet the standard
The final item is a temperature-sensitive comfort test, which mainly examines heating and cooling performance.
The test of refrigeration performance is divided into three sub-items. The first part is the test of the cooling effect. The starting temperature is 35 °C, and at the end of the dynamic condition test, the average temperature of all respiratory ports in ID.6 CROZZ is 22.1 °C, which meets the certification standard of ≤24 °C, and at the end of the idling test, the average temperature of all breathing ports is 24 °C, which meets the certification standard of ≤ 25 °C.
The second part is a test of the fastest cooling rate. The starting temperature was 35 °C, and after 10 minutes of the start of the test, the average temperature of all the respiratory ports of ID.6 CROZZ achieved ≤ 29 °C, which met the test standards.
The third part is a test of the uniformity of the temperature distribution in the cabin. Mainly to see whether the temperature difference between the front and rear rows and the left and right positions of the respiratory mouth in the same row is ≤ 4 ° C after the stability of each working condition, this small ITEM ID.6 CROZZ is also fully up to standard.
In addition, the comprehensive performance of ID.6 CROZZ in the heating performance is also good, including the effect of heating and the rate of heating have reached the test standard.

After 13 sub-items of driving performance tests in 5 dimensions, ID.6 CROZZ has obtained the "Driving Quality Star" certificate approved by the China National Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) with hard strength, with high gold content.
Although the FAW-Volkswagen ID.6 CROZZ has a wheelbase of nearly 3 meters, it is still very high in terms of handling safety, and the driving orientation dominated by comfort is more in line with the settings of a 6-seater/7-seat family car, and the power output is smooth and linear. Of course it also has very good NVH levels.
