Bai Chongxi, a native of Guilin, Guangxi, was a first-class general in the army during the Republic of China period and one of the representative figures of the new Gui warlords. He was known as "Little Zhuge Ge" and together with Li Zongren was called "Li Bai". During the Northern Expedition, he led the Guangxi army to attack Shanhaiguan. After the success of the Northern Expedition, he repeatedly went to war with other local forces.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Bai Chongxi mobilized the army in Guangxi to resist the Japanese army, and cooperated with the responsible persons of the Republic of China government to direct several major wars on many occasions, and won many victories. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he served as Minister of Defense of the Republic of China. On the eve of the founding of New China, he fled to Taiwan Province of China.
On December 2, 1966, Bai Chongxi's aide-de-camp found that he had died in his bedroom at the age of 74, his body green and the cause of death unknown. Officials claimed that Bai Chongxi had died of a heart attack, and his person in charge personally went to the White House to mourn. However, some people say that Bai Chongxi's sudden and violent death is related to his person in charge.
After the Battle of Huaihai, the prestige of the person in charge plummeted, Bai Chongxi asked him to go to the field, and he led 600,000 troops into Hainan Island. But he used the formation of a cabinet in Taiwan as bait to trick Bai Chongxi from Haikou to Taipei. Since then, Bai Chongxi has become a tiger in a cage. Therefore, in order to get rid of Bai Chongxi, he spent a lot of effort, and even let people assassinate Bai Chongxi, but it ended in failure. Bai Chongxi was more careful after the crash, which caused a headache for Gu Zhengwen of the assassination organization.
After careful investigation, Bai Chongxi often went to Gu Zhengwen's old friend to buy medicine. So he called his friend to verify and asked, "I heard that General Bai often comes to you to buy medicine?" The friend replied, "Yes, but he bought kidney medicine." After learning this important information, Gu Zhengwen asked his friend to manipulate the medicine. The friend got the order and immediately opened a very powerful prescription for Bai Chongxi, and called Bai Chongxi and asked him to come to the medical center to change it.
Although Bai Chongxi also doubted whether the prescription was a ghost, in the face of pleasure, he still dispelled this idea. Because of the frustration of the late arrival, only Yan Fu relieved the boredom. He grabbed two pairs of medicines and went home to brew wine according to the formula. Gradually, he found that he seemed to return to the way he was when he was younger, and had frequent contacts with Miss Zhang, a nurse who was in love.
When Bai Chongxi and his little girlfriend had an affair for a while, they actually died on her. Miss Zhang was so frightened that she immediately called his adjutant. The adjutant came to Bai Chongxi's bedroom and found him naked, lying on the bed. He reached out and touched it, found that the general had long since lost his breath, and sighed: "The general drinks yang wine all day long, and sooner or later his body will not be able to stand it!" I didn't expect this day to come so quickly! ”
Who would have thought that Bai Chongxi, a former hero, would actually go through his life like this. It was not until May 1993 that Gu Zhengwen revealed the inside story of General Bai's violent death. Eventually, he was buried in the Six Plough Islamic Cemeteries, whose cemeteries face the mainland.
