"League of Legends" and "Valorant" strong linkage The new characters Zeli and Nihong are cooperatively developed

Fist's two hits, League of Legends and Valorant, both announced new heroes (Zeli)/Agent (Nihong) in January, and if you're a big fan of Fist Games, you'll find that the two characters have too many similarities, similar looks, similar abilities, similar backstories, and even the voice actors are the same person. Now a new article on Valorant's website explains this, and it turns out that the two characters were developed by developers from both sides.

The article on Valorant's website explains the two characters: they are not the same character and are not related by blood, but they are indeed characters developed in close cooperation between the League of Legends and Valorant teams.

League of Legends team director Mileles said that the opportunity for the cooperation between the two sides came from the release of "League of Legends: Battle of Two Cities", which is a special moment for all the fist staff, so he asked "Valorant" team director Goscicki if he would like to cooperate to launch a new hero/agent. It doesn't make sense, as many of Valorant's developers are former League of Legends developers, even Goscicki.

This seemingly joking conversation eventually led to a collaboration between the two sides. When the developers decided on the theme of the new hero/agent: "electricity", the narrative screenwriter Luo also locked in the story concept: positive and negative. He said, "Nihong is the negative electrode, and Zeli is the positive electrode." Nihong is a bit difficult to get along with, and she is more afraid of life, treating people rudely, and a little bitter and mean. She doesn't seem to care about you, but actually cares very much and wants to do the right thing. Compared to Zeli's warm, cheerful, but sometimes stubborn and impatient personality, we really felt it was a cool way to connect the theme of electricity to their identity. ”

Both Nylon and Zeri come from large families and communities that support them, inspired by the "Bayannihan Spirit" of Filipino culture, but what sets them apart is their reaction to this culture. Another narrative screenwriter, Killeen, explains: "Nihong comes from a big family in downtown Manila, and Zeli gladly accepts the love and support from her family, but Nihong is overwhelmed by this. She still loves her family and has a strong sense of responsibility for her community and wants to reciprocate, but her personality will be more withdrawn. It's a different result of growing up in a similar environment, and we see this as a great opportunity to explore this theme as we make these characters. ”

It's hard to create characters that are similar and not identical in two different games, and we're also looking forward to Fist launching more similar co-ops.
