In 2021, Lamborghini will sell better than ever

Recently, supercar manufacturer Lamborghini announced its sales figures for 2021. Over the past year, the brand broke the history of 2020 and set a new record: 8,405 vehicles were delivered worldwide, an increase of 13% year-on-year.

Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann said: "This record affirms our work in four directions – the solidity of the strategic plan, the excellent international reputation of the Lamborghini brand, the competence and enthusiasm of our employees and the exceptional professionalism. This is also evidenced by our 173 dealers in 52 markets, who have continued to struggle with us over the past year, which has been fraught with challenges and uncertainties. ”

Regionally, all three lamborghini sales regions achieved double-digit growth: the Americas (+14%), Asia Pacific (+14%) and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (+12%).

Specific to countries and regions, the United States ranked first (+11%) with sales of 2472 vehicles, and China jumped to second (935 units, +55%). It was followed by Germany (706, +16%) and the UK (564, +9%). In Lamborghini's home market, Italy, sales figures also increased, with a total of 359 vehicles delivered (+3%).

In terms of models, the most successful model is still the Urus SUV, with a total of 5,021 units delivered worldwide. This was followed by Huracán, which, especially after the launch of the Huracán STO, helped huracán sales to grow to 2586 units. In addition, 798 V12 flagship models Aventador were delivered worldwide.

The huge orders have allowed Lamborghini to remain optimistic about its sales outlook for 2022. Meanwhile, Lamborghini plans to launch four new products over the next 12 months.

Winkelmann added: "We are stronger than ever, and at the same time, we plan to undergo a deep transformation of the Lamborghini brand and move towards a more sustainable future. In 2022, we will do our best to consolidate the current performance and prepare for the arrival of the hybrid series in 2023. ”

Lamborghini also showcased its future electrification strategy in 2021. Through the reduction in carbon emissions of its future models and Sant'Agata Bolognese plant, Lamborghini is guaranteed to achieve its overall goal of environmental sustainability in the future.

Lamborghini expects to spend more than €1.5 billion over the next four years to achieve this goal – by 2023, the first hybrid model will be released and the full range will be electrified by the end of 2024. From 2025, the overall brand carbon emissions will be reduced by 50%. Subsequently, the all-electric model will be added to the brand lineup in the second half of 2020-2030.
