The 13th Oriental Famous Drama Month, jointly sponsored by Shanghai Pudong New Area Culture and Tourism Bureau, The Paper, and Shanghai Oriental Art Center Management Co., Ltd., will be held from March 11 to April 30. This year, a total of 13 17 plays from 8 theaters across the country were invited, including Peking Opera, Kun Opera, Pingtan Opera, Huangmei Opera, Burlesque Opera, Quyi Musical Theatre, Yue Opera and other dramas to gather on the stage of the "Oriental Famous Artists Famous Drama Month".

This year's opening drama will be "Tang Guifei" by Shanghai Peking Opera Theatre, led by Shi Yihong, a master of Peking Opera Meipai, and performed by Li Jun, AnPing, Xi Zhonglu, Yang Donghu and other famous artists. Peking Opera "Tang Guifei" was born from Mei Lanfang's famous drama "Taizhen Waichuan" in the 1920s, and will be staged in Dongyi from March 11 to 12. The new edition is based on the 2003 performance version and is reinterpreted with a new era aesthetic.

Two other classic traditional dramas of the Shanghai Peking Opera House, "Dragon and Phoenix Chengxiang" and the classic folding play "Lost And Empty, Chop", will also be staged from April 15 to 16, with Fu Xiru, Gao Hongmei, Gao Mingbo and other young and middle-aged celebrities starring in these two famous Peking opera "Three Kingdoms Opera".

From March 18th to 19th, The Kun Opera House of Jiangsu Performing Arts Group will bring the Kunqu opera "1699 Peach Blossom Fan", starring Shan Wen, winner of the Chinese drama "Plum Blossom Award" and Shi Xiaming, winner of the Shanghai "Magnolia Award". The play came out in 2005, director Tian Qinxin was invited to adapt and create the Kunqu opera "1699 Peach Blossom Fan" based on the legendary famous drama "Peach Blossom Fan", which provided experience for the development and innovation of traditional opera through the attempt of modern drama structure in classical opera, the integration of classical and modern elements of stage sets, and the innovation of scene scheduling "both culture and martial arts", and this performance is the reappearance of the Shanghai stage more than ten years after the play.

Shanghai Zhang Jun Kunqu Art Center's contemporary Kunqu opera "Spring River Flower Moon Night", which is also a work that explores the appearance of contemporary Kunqu opera artistically and is popular with the market, will be staged on April 1-2. Inspired by the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ruoxuan's poem of the same name, "The Lonely Piece Presses the Whole Tang", the play is starred by Zhang Jun, who is known as the "Prince of Kunqu Opera", which fits the contemporary expression of modern aesthetics, making the play full every performance, and now it is returning to the Shanghai stage after a few years.

Since the establishment of the Famous Drama Month, a new type of drama will be added every year, which is a "tradition" of the Famous Drama Month. The 13th Famous Opera Month focuses on the Bashu region, and the large-scale quyi musical "Chengdu Family Book" performed by the Sichuan Quyi Research Institute will be staged on April 26-27. The drama takes the entry of the Fifteenth Army into the Dprk in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea as the historical background, and a letter from the family travels through Chengdu and North Korea, telling the story of sichuan boys fighting heroically in a foreign country. The fusion of Sichuan quyi and musical theater art elements with strong regional characteristics, and the modern aesthetic audio-visual, make the traditional Bashu quyi present a new stage appearance.

Famous operas have always gathered opera genres and artists from the Yangtze River Delta, and this year, Yue opera, Huangmei opera, burlesque opera and pingtan art in the Yangtze River Delta region will all share the stage.
The closing performance will be shaoxing Xiaobaihuayue Opera Troupe's two audience dramas "Three Looks at the Royal Sister" and "Tanuki Cat for Prince". Wu Fenghua, winner of the second -time "Plum Blossom Award" of Chinese drama, and Wu Suying, winner of the "Plum Blossom Award", once again joined hands in Shanghai to perform these two long-standing "Shaobai" classics from April 29 to 30.

Also bringing the troupe's kind of watchful family drama is the Huangmei Drama Theater in Anhui Province, from March 25 to 26, the troupe will bring together three winners of the "Plum Blossom Award", two winners of the Wenhua Award, and six national first-class cast members to present the two works of Huangmei Opera "Female Horse" and "Dream of the Red Chamber". On April 12, jiangsu Changzhou Burlesque Troupe will come to Shanghai again with the burlesque play "Chen Wansheng's Eating Problem". The play is based on the character "Chen Yisheng" in the novel by Changzhou writer Gao Xiaosheng, and is directed by Hu Zongqi. The play's burlesque is the first attempt to express a heavy subject matter.
