Suzhou Pingtan is a local song art that is popular in the Jiangnan area of Suzhou dialect rapping, which is a combination of Suzhou commentary and Suzhou bullet words, formed in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and has a history of more than 400 years. In 2006, it was selected into the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
