Since childhood, I have loved fine arts
Fan Bo's parents and relatives were mostly engaged in cultural and educational work, and because of his long-term exposure, he developed a strong interest in art.
From childhood comic strips and propaganda posters, to new artistic trends after the reform and opening up, foreign art creations... "These have all prompted me to have a strong interest in fine arts", Fan Bo said, since high school, Fan Bo's main energy has been inclined to fine arts, and the university has chosen the oil painting major of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and embarked on the road of professional creation.
From the end of the last century to the beginning of the 21st century, the main medium of Fan Bo's personal creation was painting, "At that time, I wanted to explore the multiple possibilities of painting expression through the exploration of painting materials and painting language, and tried to touch the inner soul of the characters through painting, and to ask about the value and meaning of life and existence." ”
Since then, Fan Bo has continuously tried to break through the limitations of traditional painting genres, explore the relationship between perceptual experience, symbol system and meaning representation with new creative media and techniques, and use scene-based narratives to reproduce scenes and construct the present, so that art presents a grander and more meaningful proposition of the times.

"Thirteen Lines of Guangzhou"

Fan Bo said that General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed that literary and art workers should be concerned about the great cause of national rejuvenation, reflect the great changes of the Chinese nation over the past thousand years, reveal the right way in the world of a century-old China, and reflect and praise the magnificent atmosphere of the new era. The art world also responds to and undertakes these propositions of the times with artistic creation. "I myself have been thinking about how to incorporate major historical scenes in the process of national history, culture and modernization into my paintings."
In recent years, Fan Bo has led the creation of the "Thirteen Elements of Guangzhou" art creation project on the theme of chinese civilization history, the commissioned project "Xi Zhongxun and Guangdong Reform and Opening Up One Step ahead" commissioned by the Ministry of Culture, the "Major Creative Project for the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" and the "Establishment of special economic zones" commissioned by the Ministry of Culture. Among them, "Thirteen Lines of Guangzhou" is displayed in the permanent collection of the National Museum of China.
Talking about the creation of these works, Fan Bo said that I regard the people as the main body of creative performance and the basic criterion of creation, go deep into life, take root in the people, and constantly adjust the posture, internalize what I see and feel into the power of creation, integrate the pulse of the times and the voice of the people into the works, and create artistic masterpieces that are truly worthy of the people and the times. From art township construction and concern for rural revitalization, to the "epidemic" of art to fight the epidemic, to the expression of people's livelihood and concern for environmental changes through art, I have always insisted on "speaking out for the times and praising the people" through art.

It marks the centenary of the founding of the Party
Creation of "Establishment of Special Economic Zones"
It is worth mentioning that the large-scale oil painting "The Establishment of the Special Economic Zone" created by Fan Bo to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Cpc has been permanently collected by the History Exhibition Hall of the Communist Party of China.
In December 1978, the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made a historic decision on reform and opening up. In July 1979, the Party Central Committee and the State Council approved the trial operation of export special zones in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou and Xiamen, and in May of the following year, they were renamed as special economic zones, as a great initiative to promote reform and opening up.
On July 8, 1979, the "first cannon to open the mountain" in Shekou Industrial Zone not only exploded the first cannon of the construction of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, but also the first cannon of China's reform and opening up. Fan Bo, Guo Zuchang and Lin Feng keenly captured the great historical significance of the "first cannon to open the mountain", and created the oil painting "Founding a Special Economic Zone" with a realistic technique and using a personalized artistic language, which artistically reproduced the moment when the mountain cannon exploded: the coast of the South China Sea, under the Tiger Cliff Mountain, and the smoke of gunfire.

Promote the reform and innovation of the art talent training model
Recently, the "Oil Painting" course led by Fan Bo organically integrates art and ideological politics, infuses morality in art, and educates people with painting, and has won the honors of the first batch of ideological and political demonstration courses, teaching famous teachers and teams of the Ministry of Education. His "Integration of Art Sciences - Innovative Research and Practice of Talent Training Models in Fine Arts in the New Era" won the first batch of national new liberal arts research and reform practice projects, which is a new breakthrough in the national education reform project of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
As an artist and educator, Fan Bo said that we should promote the reform and innovation of the art talent training model, educate people with beauty, cast the soul with bacon, and cultivate composite artistic innovation talents that meet the needs of the times.
During the Eleventh National Cultural Congress, Fan Bo also put forward his own thinking, he said that as a representative of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, we must shoulder the mission entrusted to us by the times, take the United States as the media, join hands with Hong Kong and Macao, and jointly build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Art and Design Education Development Alliance, tell the story of the Bay Area with affection, tell the story of China, and show the world a credible, lovely and respectable image of China.

Biography of Van Bo
He is currently the vice president of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts; the doctoral supervisor of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, Birmingham City University, Wales Trinity St David University and Macau University of Science and Technology, the vice president of the China Oil Painting Society, and the vice chairman of the Guangdong Artists Association.
