Chen Yihan is a cardiologist. In 1996, he graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine with a Doctorate in Internal Medicine. He was the first discoverer of the human atrial fibrillation pathogenic gene, he defined the glutamatergic neuron-like cell properties of cardiac pacemakers, discovered a new cardiac bioelectric control system, identified a key signaling pathway that controls myocardial cell proliferation and myocardial regeneration, and developed a series of new drug prodrugs targeting major heart diseases. His scientific discoveries have been rated as the annual breakthrough in the field of cardiac electrophysiology, the top ten scientific and technological progress of Chinese colleges and universities, the second prize of the National Natural Science Award, the first prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, and the first prize of the Shanghai Natural Science Award.
