Hu Yu (1360-1443) was a native of Nanchang in the Ming Dynasty. He is the author of "Selected Writings of Yi'an" and "Miscellaneous Sayings of Hu".

Hu Yu was born in a Confucian family at the end of the Yuan Dynasty. He has been studying well since he was a child, and he has extensive knowledge of all the books he can find, so he has a knowledge reserve of astronomy, geography, legal calendar, medicine, divination and other aspects. In the 20th year of Hongwu (1387), he won the second place in the township examination. Because of his profound knowledge, he was awarded the Huating Teachings as a juror. When teaching, he was able to teach himself as a teacher and preach.

After Zhu Di came to power, he was recommended by the deputy capital Yushi Lianzining and the first assistant of the cabinet, Xie Jin, and others, and was appointed to the post of review of the Hanlin Academy, and was on duty at Wenyuan Pavilion, serving as the overseer of the state. In the second year of Yongle (1404), when his father died, he returned to his hometown to keep filial piety.

In the seventh year of Yongle (1409), Ming Chengzu Zhu Di was fortunate to arrive in Beijing, and Hu Yu accompanied him north. In the nineteenth year of Yongle (1421), Zhu Di moved the capital to Beijing. As a Pavilion Su Confucian, he served as the chief official when he reworked the Records of the Ming Dynasty, the Yongle Canon, and the Tianxia Tuzhi. During the more than twenty years that he presided over the study of Chinese culture, he taught by example, every line and every move, and all of them had a teacher. He often exhorted his students to be pragmatic and simple, so as to change the floating habits.

When passing through Yangzhou from Nanjing to Kyoto Road, Hu Yu wrote poems such as "Passing Yizhen", "Passing Yangzhou", "Leitang", and "Crossing Hangou". While passing through Shao Bo, he wrote the first verse of the "Zhao Bo Dam":

"The Water of the Shaobo Jintou River is oblique, and there are people in the Maozi Bamboo.

At that time, Xie Fu Gantang tree, today's spring wind wild grass flowers. ”

Hu Yu wrote in the poem "Zhao BoBa":

The waters of The Shaw Lake ferry are flowing,

There are several families living in the thatched bamboo garden.

If it weren't for the Taifu building the Dai Dam in those years,

Where will there be today's spring wind wildflowers!

Looking at it from afar,

The vast lake and fields are green with grass.

Snow-white heron,

In the breeze of the wilderness.

Suddenly, there was a burst of music from the ship,

In an instant, the egrets were startled,
