Zhao Kuangyin seized the opportunity to say, "Wouldn't it be nice if you give up your military power, buy more good land and beautiful houses, and return to your hometown to enjoy your old age in peace, so that there will be no more suspicion between the monarchs and the courtiers?" By this time, Shi Shouxin and others had understood Zhao Kuangyin's intentions, but there was no room for maneuver, so they had to surrender their military powers one after another.
