"In Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou, hydrogen buses will come in handy." During the Beijing Winter Olympics, not only the temperature is low, the venues are distributed in three competition areas, the distance span is nearly 200 kilometers, and the vehicle start, endurance and mountain road conditions in the low temperature environment put forward higher requirements for hydrogen fuel vehicles. In Liu Jihong's view, the core technology of hydrogen energy buses is how to make the vehicle have no "mileage loss" in extremely cold conditions and ensure the temperature and environment in the car.

To this end, Beiqi Foton undertook the task of "research and development of high-performance hydrogen fuel buses in the Winter Olympic service scenario". Facing the major demand for low-carbon travel in the Winter Olympics, Beiqi Foton developed hydrogen fuel cell buses with high economy, high power, fast cold start and station communication functions, and breakthroughs in key components and core technologies and 100% localization replacement are the arduous tasks facing the team.

The secret to coping with cold challenges lies in the vehicle's battery. After years of technical research, the Beiqi Foton team has developed a new generation of fast cold start high power density fuel cell system and rapid heating power battery system under extreme cold conditions. According to reports, the efficiency of the hydrogen fuel fuel fuel cell system can reach up to 60%, the discharge is only water, achieving "zero emissions, no pollution", the cruising range reaches more than 600 kilometers, and the hydrogen refueling time is only 10 to 15 minutes.

Low temperature start has always been a hard indicator of vehicle performance. A "hard technology" independently developed by Beiqi Foton, the first "U degree" integrated thermal management technology in China, is applied to Ouhui hydrogen fuel buses. This technology can recycle the waste heat generated by hydrogen fuel cells, and use the waste heat generated to defrost and defoggle the interior heating and front windshield.

"Full waste heat heating can be achieved when the fuel cell power reaches 75%, which can reduce the energy consumption of the whole vehicle by 7.6%." Liu Jihong said that this technology not only further reduces the operating costs of hydrogen fuel buses, but also inserts "scientific and technological wings" for the green Winter Olympics.

After serving the Winter Olympics, hydrogen fuel buses will continue to provide the public with a safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly travel experience through various passenger service provider systems such as Beijing Bus and Zhangjiakou Bus.
