Ren Rongrong, whose real name is Ren Yiqi, was born in Shanghai in May 1923. He is fluent in Chinese languages and translates children's literature in english, Russian, Japanese and Italian. Children's literature classics such as Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales, Charlotte's Web, Willow Forest Wind, Pippi Longstocking, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, etc., have been circulated among generations of readers through Ren Rongrong's translation.

In 1942, Ren rongrong published his first translation, "The Army Through The County of Dis", by the Ukrainian writer Taisnyak, which is now 80 years.

On January 1, 1946, Ren Rongrong published the first children's literature translation in the inaugural issue of New Literature magazine under the pseudonym of Yi Lan, the novel "Fried Meat Slices Made of Clay" by the Turkish writer Sadri Etem, and began his journey of children's literature translation.

"Ren RongRong Translation Collection" is the first collection of Ren Rongrong translation works launched in China, including more than 80 works of nearly 40 well-known writers around the world, which took more than three years to edit and publish, filling the gap in this field in China. The project was selected into the "14th Five-Year Plan for National Key Publications" issued by the State Press and Publication Administration, and won the first prize of the 16th Shanghai Book Awards in 2021.

The Collected Translations of Ren Rong Rong is the largest collection and publication of Ren Rong Rong's translated works so far. Gao Hongbo, vice chairman of the China Writers Association, served as the honorary editor-in-chief of the Editorial Board of the Anthology, Ren Rongkang, son of Ren Rongrong, served as the editor-in-chief, and more than ten writers and scholars from the field of children's literature and translation, such as Shu Peide, Jiang Feng, Fang Weiping, and Zhu Ziqiang, served as the editorial board.

According to the different periods of Ren Rongrong's translation over the years and the characteristics of multilingual spanning, the Ren Rongrong Translation Anthology is divided into two parts: the first part, nine volumes, divided into volumes according to the genre of translation, volume I is a poetry volume, volumes two to six are novel volumes, volume seven is a drama fable fairy tale volume, volumes viii and 9 are fairy tale volumes, that is, the upper and lower volumes of Andersen's Fairy Tales; the second part, eleven volumes, are divided into volumes according to important writers who can be independently composed.
