On the morning of August 20, the 2021 Southern Literature Festival Jiangmen Branch venue and the second Jiangmen Ren Rong Children's Book Carnival were officially opened at the Jiangmen Book Purchase Center, and the current book festival will last until August 30, and the majority of Jiangmen citizens can enjoy the reading carnival. This year's Book Festival is sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee and the Office of the Leading Group for the Study and Education of Party History of the Municipal Party Committee, and the theme of the event is "Striving for a Hundred Years and Setting Sail for a New Journey". During the event, a large number of book exhibitions and sales were held, as well as colorful cultural activities such as the story meeting of the history of the party and overseas Chinese, the display of the characteristic culture of overseas Chinese, the sharing meeting of famous artists, the mobile book car into the countryside, and the book rafting, so as to present a reading carnival with a strong book fragrance and rich characteristics of overseas Chinese.

The event has successively awarded awards to the winners of the Xiaohuacheng (Jiangmen) Original Fairy Tale Essay Contest, the outstanding author and instructor of the 2020 "My Book House My Dream" reading practice activity for rural children by the Printing and Distribution Bureau of the Central Propaganda Department, the outstanding author of the "History of Film Watching" essay, and the flag was awarded to the mobile book car to the countryside.
Hanfu catwalk "debuted" this year's Book Festival! As the chimes sounded, one by one, the girls dressed in Han costumes strolled through the stage of the Book Festival in turn, or flowing, or delicate, or smart. On the stage, the performers dressed in costumes restored from various dynasties and put on exquisite makeup. Yang Chunxia, head of the Hanfu community, said: "I hope to show you that the costumes of each of our dynasties have different characteristics and let everyone know about them. The wonderful Hanfu catwalk performance won unanimous applause from the audience.
The main features of this year's Book Festival are "one opening ceremony, two major plates, and four major measures to benefit the people", so that during the Book Festival, "there are new highlights every day". Among them, the "two major sections" include party history study and education books, high-quality publications, overseas Chinese cultural books and other book exhibition and lending activities, as well as party history and overseas Chinese history story meeting, overseas Chinese characteristic culture display, children's book masters sharing meeting, family education lecture hall, children's heart to the party red classic reading meeting and other theme reading activities.
The "four major measures to benefit the people" include mobile book car into the countryside activities, book rafting activities, "cultural benefits for the people sharing on the cloud" activities and "you choose books, I pay" recommended purchase and borrowing activities.
