Recently, some iPhone users reported that they could not enable iCloud Privacy Relay when connected to a cellular network, and speculated that the communications carrier was behind the trip. However, in a statement to the 9to5Mac, T-Mobile said that it did not "block" the feature on a large scale and dumped it on a bug in iOS 15.2. It is reported that the problem not only affects T-Mobile users, but also persists in the latest iOS 15.3 beta version.

T-Mobile's statement reads as follows:
Almost overnight, my team discovered that in iOS 15.2, iCloud Privacy Relay was turned off by default for some devices.
We have informed Apple of this and the issue is not specific to the T-Mobile network. Even so, my company wants to clarify that T-Mobile isn't blocking iCloud Privacy Relay on a massive scale.
iPhone users who are having problems can disable Wi-Fi first, then try to move to Settings Cellular Data Select the corresponding scheme and make sure that Restrict IP Address Tracking is enabled.
However, T-Mobile also acknowledges that in some cases, for 'technical reasons,' it may be possible to disable iCloud Privacy Relay.
In other words, if your account or line has content moderation or parental controls enabled, you can't enable it when you're connected to a cellular network.
The company explained in a separate statement:
Customers with a plan that supports content filtering features, such as parental controls, will not be able to access iCloud Privacy Relay.
Because at the beginning of the design, the relevant functions did not consider this situation. As for other customers, there will be no restrictions.
Another source confirmed to 9to5Mac that the same applies to some legacy packages, including Netflix on Us perk and the family Allowances feature enabled.
