Guangzhou, January 11 (Cheng Jingwei, Diao Xiaohua) The Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger in the Chinese Lunar Calendar is approaching, and the fourth phase of the 2021 "In Guangdong" series of activities: "Tiger Power Is Fully Open - Nongyin Tiger Year Theme Art Exhibition" opened on the first floor of the Guangdong Provincial Cultural Center on the 11th, exhibiting a number of works of art such as Shiwan pottery sculptures, Foshan paper-cutting, Canton embroidery, tide embroidery and other works of art on the theme of the Tiger's Zodiac, so that the public can feel the unique charm and development vitality of Lingnan Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The tiger, as one of the twelve zodiac signs, is known as the "King of the Hundred Beasts" for its fierceness and majesty.

In this exhibition, the national and provincial representative inheritors of a number of intangible cultural heritage projects, as well as the masters of arts and crafts, participated, among which the Xiashan Tiger Chao embroidery works created by the chao embroidery master Sun Qingxian adopted the K gold chaotic needle embroidery technique, and the work was vivid in shape, fur image and realistic texture, expressing the mighty momentum of the tiger "a whistle of wind and a hundred beasts". Foshan Shiwan pottery master Pan Bolin brought the Nonyin Tiger Year Zodiac sculpture series "Happy Happy Harvest Year", a total of five pottery tigers with different postures, reproducing the "King of the Hundred Beasts" of the heroic posture and proud momentum, interpreting the exquisite craftsmanship of Shiwan pottery for thousands of years.

In addition, Chen Shaofang, a master of Embroidery, Rao Baolian, a paper-cutting artist, Zeng Zhaohong, a master of olive carving, Wang Zengfeng, a master of arts and crafts in Guangdong Province, and Liu Zhongping, a representative inheritor of Foshan woodblock prints at the municipal level, also exhibited works of art with tiger elements.

Liu Zhongping, known as "New Year Painting Girl", also carried out the interactive experience activity of Foshan woodblock New Year paintings on the spot, attracting many citizens to participate in the printing of New Year painting tigers. "In the new year, with the theme of the Year of the Tiger, I created two New Year paintings suitable for children and young people, one of which means 'tiger and tiger are powerful' and 'academic success', and the overall style is more cute; the other is Tiggo diagram, which has a strong sense of design and is more fashionable." Liu Zhongping said that the purpose of these two newly created New Year paintings is to bring New Year's blessings to the people.

Zheng Xiaoyang, deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Culture Center, said that from the most well-known zodiac tiger to the folk tiger in the hands of folk craftsmen, in the fields of writing, language, poetry, sculpture, painting, novel, opera, folklore, folklore, folklore, folk skills and other traditional culture, the image of the tiger is everywhere and has become an indispensable part of Chinese civilization. In addition to the traditional Lingnan Intangible Cultural Heritage works, the exhibition also exhibits cultural and creative products such as the "Tiger Young General" IP series based on the Bronze Tiger Festival of the Western Han Dynasty Nanyue King Museum.
