A month after the Japanese surrendered their weapons, why did they still execute Uddhav? 40 years later, a Japanese professor found out the truth

Speaking of Yu Dafu, our impression of him is estimated to be still stuck in the middle and high school Chinese texts "Autumn in the Old Capital", and in the eyes of all of us, he is just a literati writer with beautiful writing, quite sentimentality, and great respect for Lu Xun. Few of us know that he still has another layer of identity, that is, a revolutionary.

Born in 1896 in Zhejiang to a family of intellectuals, Yu Dafu was so talented from an early age that he began to compose his own poetry collections at the age of 15. Two years later, he began studying in Japan, and when he was a student at Tokyo Daiichi High School in Japan, he even began to write novels, which may be the reason why his novels have some Japanese style characteristics.

In 1922, at the age of 26, Uddhafu completed his studies in Japan and returned to the embrace of his homeland. With his high education, he soon found a teacher's fat difference in a middle school, and during his time as a teacher, due to the relatively light task, he was able to have a large amount of time to engage in novel writing, and it was at this time that Yu Dafu's popularity in the country rose.

It was also during this time period that Yu Dafu met one of the most important friends in his life, and this person was Lu Xun. Although the attitudes of the two are somewhat different in their treatment of certain aspects, Yu Dafu still admires Lu Xun very much, and this admiration begins with literature and falls into character, so the two often talk about life together. And because of the deep influence of Mr. Lu Xun, Yu Dafu's thought is also biased towards progress and patriotism.

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Fuzhou, Yu Dafu began to call on all walks of life to actively carry out anti-Japanese rescue activities, and every day he would release literary works of "saving the country and trying to survive" to awaken the people's awareness of struggle, and even warned the people: "Our generation should sacrifice for the War of Resistance." ”

In 1938, at the invitation of the Singaporean side, Yu Dafu began to travel to Singapore to participate in the anti-Japanese propaganda work at first, and served as an editor of several local newspapers and periodicals. The reason why Yu Dafu was invited was mainly because although there were many Chinese in Singapore at that time, it had not yet awakened in terms of ideology, and it needed a talent who could liberate people's minds and condense the anti-war forces around Singapore into a rope, and Yu Dafu was the best candidate in terms of both prestige and ability.

- And it is also true that under the leadership of Yu Dafu, the overseas Chinese from all sides in Nanyang have almost united, and their land boundary has become one of the most important overseas positions for publicizing the War of Resistance.

One thing worth mentioning here is that at the end of 1938, his mother hid in the mountains and starved to death for refusing to do hard labor for the Japanese army; and only a year later, his eldest brother was assassinated by Japanese agents for boycotting Japan. These Uddhavs all looked into his eyes and became his motivation to fight against the Japanese.

In 1942, when the Pacific War had already broken out, the Japanese army, in order to facilitate the confrontation with the American army, grasped the initiative at sea and occupied a large amount of territory in Southeast Asia, including Singapore. At that time, Uddhav's team was forced to move to a small town in Indonesia. But when they got to the town, Yudaf's team found that the town had been occupied by the Japanese army.

But fortunately, no one knew what Yu Dafu looked like, and yu Dafu had no problem staying here, and then he even opened a factory here to feed the Chinese affected by the war, of course, he could also use the factory as a pretext to engage in anti-Japanese underground activities.

And since he is a small boss, it is inevitable that he will communicate with Japanese people. During a conversation, Yu Dafu was discovered by the Japanese army that Yu could speak Japanese, after all, he had studied in Japan. At that time, the Japanese army was distressed that it could not communicate with the local residents, and the appearance of Yu Dafu naturally solved the dilemma of the Japanese army, so Yu Dafu became a Japanese translator in this way, and assumed the pseudonym "Zhao Lian".

When Yu Dafu was working as an interpreter for the Japanese gendarmerie detachment, he did make it a lot easier for himself, using his identity to protect the interests of local overseas Chinese and also to facilitate himself to send out intelligence. For example, he successfully used his identity to help the Chinese leader Chen Jiageng escape from the Japanese army.

But no matter how well hidden it is, there is no impermeable wall after all. Later, there were actually traitors who reported to the Japanese army, and the translator Zhao Lian was Yu Dafu. The news of the traitor's whistleblowing reached Yu Dafu, who quickly informed Hu Yuzhi, a member of the Communist Party of China at the time, and others to retreat urgently.

At that time, the retreating people urged Yu Dafu to go with him, but Yu Dafu was very rational, and he knew that he could not go. Because he knew that since he was recognized, he had been in a state of surveillance, and if they walked together, they would not be able to escape. So he finally decided to stay and cover his companions' retreat. The retreat of his companions was successful, and he himself was limited by the Japanese, but the Japanese army only imposed strict restrictions on him at that time and did not really arrest him.

This was the time until the victory of the War of Resistance in August 1945, when Uddhav, who was restricted by the Japanese army, was ecstatic and even began to consider how to do some work overseas for the reconstruction of the motherland. But what I didn't expect was that an accident happened.

At the end of August 1945, when Yu Dafu was discussing matters with the overseas Chinese, an Indonesian youth came in and said that he wanted Yu Dafu to go out, and Yu Dafu did not feel that there was anything abnormal, and went out.

But since then, they have been seeing Yu Dafu come back, and the overseas Chinese know the seriousness of the matter, but they have searched all over the region, and there is no trace of Yu Dafu, and Yu Dafu has magically disappeared.

However, the world has not given up the search for Yu Dafu, one of them will be The Associate Professor of Yokohama City University in Japan, Suzuki Masao, who has repeatedly investigated singapore and Sumatra, searched for hundreds of locals, and finally found some clues, all of which pointed to the Japanese gendarmerie squad leader at that time.

And when Masao Suzuki found the gendarme squad leader in 1985, 40 years later, the Japanese gendarmerie squad leader was 75 years old, and he also admitted bluntly that he had kidnapped Yu Dafu.

That night, he first found a local to trick Uddhav out, then had several gendarmes tie him up, then threw him into the car, drove the car into the wilderness where there was no one, and finally strangled him to death.

As for the reason, the squad leader no longer concealed that it was to cover up their war criminal behavior, after all, if Yu Dafu survived, his evil deeds here would be shaken out by him without omission. Therefore, the gendarmerie dealt a cruel blow to Uddhav.
