Yu Dafu went to a private school at the age of 7, entered the academy at the age of 11, after graduating from the higher primary school, he was admitted to Hangzhou Fu Middle School, and then went to several church schools, Yu Dafu during his study, often sent his works to the newspaper, and later because he was dissatisfied with the education method of the church school, he returned to his hometown for two years to stay at home and study alone.

In 1921, when Yu Dafu was teaching in a school in Anqing, he met a girl named Haitang, the two had a very close relationship, every time Yu Dafu finished teaching, he would definitely go to the residence of Haitang outside the city, because there was a class in the morning, Yu Dafu needed to rush to the city gate in the early morning, and then waited for the city gate to open, in his novel "The Vast Night", he described his love life with Haitang in detail, but in the way of a novel, the heroine named Haitang, said that it was the Begonia girl who interacted with him. The male protagonist's name is Yu Zhifu, who is also the embodiment of Yu Dafu. In 1917, when Yu Dafu returned home from Japan, his mother introduced a fellow countrywoman Sun Tsuen, and the two people quickly got engaged, but Yu Dafu was not very satisfied with this family affair, but from some of his poems, it can be seen that although Sun Tsuen was not proud of his appearance, he talked and talked like a feudal woman in the old society, so Yu Dafu was still quite attached to her.
In 1920, the two married, according to Yu Dafu's idea, everything was simple, neither witnesses were present, nor candles were lit, even firecrackers were not released, Sun Quan's way of marrying was also extremely low-key, but when night fell, he made a palanquin from home to Go to Yu Dafu's house, and after a simple dinner, he officially became a husband and wife. After 1921, because of Yu Dafu's work, Sun Quan ran around with her husband and lived in Anqing, Shanghai, and Beiping, which was also her happiest day. However, the marriage did not last long, in 1927, Yu Dafu and Wang Yingxia, who fell in love at first sight, were engaged, Sun Quan and her husband were completely separated, and Sun Quan took his children back to Yu Dafu's hometown to live with his mother, and did not die until 1978. Yu Dafu recalled in his diary in 1936 that he had been married to Wang Yingxia for nearly ten years, and his feelings for her were still the same as when they first met, and the feelings of the husband and wife were still warm after so long.
Yu Dafu met Lu Xun in his early years, in 1927 Lu Xun moved to Shanghai to settle down, the two became increasingly close, Yu Dafu wrote for him under lu Xun's introduction, and later co-edited the monthly magazine "Benliu" with him, Yu Dafu and Lu Xun were both collaborators and friends, Lu Xun also supported him to become the editor-in-chief of the newspaper. After everyone thought that Yu Dafu's life would be calm, and his wife Wang Yingxia had been in love until the white head, yu Dafu found that Wang Yingxia and Dai Kasa had an affair, and the husband and wife were completely separated, and it is a pity that Yu Dafu was secretly killed in September 1945, resulting in an amorous life.
